Almond Eyes

Almond Eyes

When I look at your face

There's blankness in your eyes

The warmth and love is gone

You're desperate not to lie.

But I know you all too well

I know how you feel inside

I know you're hanging on

Trying not to cry.

I see it all forever deep in almond eyes

We're not who we used to be

It's become so hard to try

Maybe there's a chance

To get back on the ride

Patience whispers in my ear

Telling me to take my time.

The years flown so quickly

Are impossible to hold

And it scares me to think

Your hands have turned so cold

My love is still a desire

My heart worn on my sleeve

Has the time finally come

For me to walk away and leave?

I see it all forever deep in almond eyes

I still feel your heart beating

Fast next to mine

Maybe there's a chance

To again make your love mine

To hold you, move you, hear you say you love me

Deep inside.
