After being on the road a few days, it was so nice to find a nice quiet park like the Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park in Coalinga, California. It's such a well-liked park, it was full. We took the last site with good satellite TV! Sometimes that's very important to the RV traveler. This is a very nice park and a very comfortable place to stay. They even helped us find our site. They have a very friendly front desk with Good Sam, Triple A and AARP discounts. The pull-through sites are tight but they're plenty long for big-rigs and leaving tow-vehicle hooked up. We checked out the clean bathrooms and pool area when we walked in the morning. Conveniently located nearby is an ARCO station where we topped off the tank before hitting the road again. There aren't many resort in this area so mark this one for sure. We know we'll return. Our destination was Menifee, California. Look for my review of the Wilderness Lakes Resort in Menifee.

This park or RV resort is easy to find. From Jct of I5 and exit 325 , go west .2 miles on Jayne Rd to Glenn Avenue. Go south .2 miles to the park. Very easy on and easy off the freeway and far enough off the freeway so you don't hear the freeway noise. Even though we came in later in the day,we found them to be very hospitable and friendly. They have good paved interior roads with trees! Lots of places don't have trees.

There's a total of 82 sites with 60 on gravel and some shaded. 60 of them are pull-thrus, full hookups with 30/50 amps. They have handicap access sites and WiFi for a small fee. The restrooms and showers are nice and clean. They have public phones, a laundry facility, LP gas available and a wonderful pool for adults and even one for the children or family. They do have a BBQ every Saturday night and we were there on a Saturday but too late to partake in the BBQ.

We were pleasantly surprised with this park. Being this is our first vacation south, we didn't know what to expect or what we'd find just picking a resort out of a book. It is a very nicely tended park and I can't say enough nice things about it. When you're at this park, your mid-way through the San Joaquin Valley.

Rates tend to change but last years rates were $34 AND they take Visa and Mastercard. Make sure you check this friendly quiet RV resort soon. You can contact them at www.almondtreesommerville.com, sommervillervpark@yahoo.com or their phone number is 559-935-0711 . Don't miss this family friendly place and their family friendly service!
