Almost Hopeless Job Market

Pickup games yea like when we were kids.

At times as a kid I would be alone.

Would go to the local playground.

Then see if I could get a group of other kids and form baseball, basketball or football game. Some of those rag tag teams were a lot of fun

Now not a kid anymore.I am over fifty. Now unfortunately jobs have become like a pickup game. How I miss the days when I had a daily job.A real pay check I could depend upon.It seems good as the work starts,it might be four days then over time it becomes less. Then I find my self doing the job pickup game.

Kind of sad that it has come to that.

Lots of times I feel like that kid that gets picked last. Then sometimes do not even get picked.Like there were times when their would be seven kids and you would only need six

Three on a team. Then someone would be odd man out.

In between times keep looking for my own spot in life.

Perhaps yardwork.I might put a ladder in my truck and clean gutters.

I know this article may seem like doom and gloom .I know there are better times ahead. In the mean time I keep trying.Remaining watchful of some opportunity.

Life goes in cycles theirs good times and bad.The good does outweigh the bad.

We are going into November and that will be better.Who knows perhaps one of those jobs will lead to a better job.

There are things I have done and will continue to do, to help with my quest for a job.

There are several web sites that I use to look for a job

www.cleveland.com

www.snagajob.com

www.indeed.com

www.monster.com

www.hotjobs.com

While I was writing this article it came to mind a co worker of mine.

He was a mechanic, anyway he began to make wooden toys. Then he took those toys to county fairs and craft shows. He did so well at it,that he quite his mechanic job and made toys full time.To this day I find it hard to believe but it really did happen that way.

Then I think of the person that came up with the pet rock. You just never know

What might be the next trend.

Theirs people that make jewelry. They go to craft shows.they may even have a web site. They go to the shows pass out their business cards with their web address.

Perhaps they will do some creative marketing buy one get one free.Trying to get the word out about their product. They might even do a newsletter.

All is not lost or hopless. You only loose if you give up.
