Almost Paradise

Cheri Majors, M.S.
A poem for a new life.

Abandoned tide pools distance themselves

From monolithic cliffs,

As remnants of departed waves

Reflect glittered sunshine along sandy bluffs.

Remembering full moons left behind

For shimmering rays,

Imprinting onto glassy

Island shores and waterways.

Forgotten dreams vanquished

Beneath ocean waves extinguishing flames,

Pounded by surf on bay shore

Life ruined without blame.

Just a mom and dogs

With her sunshine boy,

Almost paradise for home

A new life to enjoy.
