Already

R. J. Gardiner
You are already all you ever will be

Just as the acorn is already the tree

You have already done all you ever will do

Just as the leaves have all fallen and blew

Your body has already entered the grave

And the rotted tree falls, it is gravity's slave

So despite seeming light all is actually dark

On eternity's journey we forever embark
