Deeper still
Like uncharted waters.

Drawing myself in
A grand romance.

Balloons and Sad Clowns

A friend passed by
Inviting me to come to the circus
I smiled and said
"I'd love to but I'm scared.
You don't really know me."
I'm scared
I don't like the hubbub
I don't like the crowds
I don't like the noise.

I need you to love me.
I'm scared you'll think I'm nuts
Bring me a red balloon
Bring me a picture of
You and a clown
I could be that clown for you.
But you just want to be my friend.

No Rest

Born into a land of plenty
With too many toys
And angry people.
I just want to rest
I don't want to fight
With myself anymore
Malnourished and scared.
Always scared
My heart beats
But I am scared.
I rested my mind in clouds and
Mountain streams
I found wild mute swans
And used creams and potions
And found myself able to face
Another day.
After my rest.

I'm With Jesus

I haven't had a lover yet
My life is very plain
I like Jesus and playing
The sweet sad sound of the clarinet.

Love needs trust and hope and faith.
My heart knew a love
I wondered if he was really worth it
He was so needy and I grew scared.
We all have doubts. Thinking we're not
Enough on our own.
But I am with Jesus
And he thinks I'm precious

He makes my soul sing
When I see a rainbow
Or a lark
I cannot say my life is empty
Just quiet and at peace
