Did You Ever Think About These Ways to Treat Your Depressed Mood?
1. Laughter
Plenty of studies have been done to show that there is a clear connection between laughter, the brain, and the many health benefits that it can have. People actually underestimate using happiness and laughter to aid your depression, but it can help. Try watching a funny movie to get you back into your old self again! If you have found a movie that makes you laugh so hard that your sides begin to hurt, be sure to hold onto it for all those times in your life that your feeling down and depressed. Laughing can do wonders for yourself, as well as make you less depressed.
2. Aromatherapy, Oils, and Acupuncture
Many natural therapies are beginning to advocate the use of aromatherapy and different oils for treating Depression. These types of treatments may not work for everyone, but there is certainly no harm in trying them. Using aromatherapy to treat Depression can actually be helpful if you know how to use these treatments properly.
Acupuncture is another popular form of treatment that has increased over the past years. The point of acupuncture is to use puncture points and certain points of the body to release and ease the pressure. Acupuncture is actually recommended by some people as a successful form of treating Depression; going to an Acupuncture therapist may be just what you need!
3. Hot Showers and Steam Rooms
If you're feeling depressed, you may just need a trip to the steam room, a hot bath, or even a hot shower. Letting the warm water and temperatures sink into your body may help you to not only clear your mind from your depressed mood, but also may help to relax your body. For me, personally, taking a hot bath or a shower usually helps me feel not only clean and refreshed, but does also help to lighten my mood whenever I'm feeling depressed.
Using all of these techniques to help your depression may just actually work. Don't underestimate other techniques rather than just prescription medications. You just may be surprised at what techniques and alternate forms of therapy may work. Trying these rather than staying in your depressed mood will go a long way in helping your Depression disappear!
