No more!! There are other ways to use the hair conditioner!
Alternate uses for hair conditioner #1
Do you enjoy the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard? I know I do not, having encountered several kitchen cabinets that mimic that sound when opened. Hair conditioner to the rescue. Apply one teaspoon of hair conditioner to a soft dry towel: apply the towel to the hinges. The conditioner works as a lubricant, coating the metal. Thus, no more squeaky door cabinets.
Alternate uses for hair conditioner #2
Do you own a leather coat? Or briefcase? Or chair? Or anything leather? Pour a dime size amount on a soft dry towel and rub gently into the leather. It works great at softening the leather and giving it a bit of sheen.
Alternate uses for hair conditioner #3
Do you have wonderful mascara that looks great on, but it a pain to remove? You do not need to spend money on eye makeup remover. Place a thin layer on your eyes with your ring finger. Wait ten seconds and gently remove with a damp soft towel. Conditioners contain fatty alcohols which break down the makeup's pigments while the fatty acids strengthen and firm skin. (No one likes saggy under eyes and lids.)
Alternate uses for hair conditioner #4
Those houseplants that you are going to start using to grow fresh air (mentioned in a previous article of mine) can sometimes become dusty. That dust build-up can hinder the plant's ability to absorb sunlight and water. Hair conditioner can help. Place a dime size amount onto a soft damp towel and rub the plant leaves. As the towel removes the dust and grime from the leaves, the conditioner deposits positive ions onto the leaves; consequently the leaves are green and dirt free.
Alternate uses for hair conditioner #5
Have you ever had one of your favorite sweaters shrink from accidentally being placed in the dryer? No need to fret anymore. Dissolve a tablespoon of hair conditioner into a sink of warm water. Place the sweater into the sink and let it soak for thirty minutes. Remove and reshape the sweater back to its original shape and size. The oils in the conditioner work as they do with leather- they soften the fibers of the sweater, therein making the fabric more pliable. Lay flat to dry overnight and in the morning you have your favorite sweater back.
