Alternative Fun Uses for Hacky Sacks or Footbags

There are more uses for a hacky sack ball-- or footbag-- beyond tossing and bouncing one around by yourself or with friends. There are a few alternative things you can do with a hacky sack ball. Some ideas are practical while others are just fun.

Take a look at this list and decide what you'd like to do with your hacky sack ball.

Door prop. If you have a door in your home that keeps closing completely, perhaps due to the wind, you can use your hacky sack as a door prop. Place it slight under the door to stop if from moving or put it at the corner of the door opening to prevent a cracked door from closing all the way. Another option is to place the hacky sack in the door jam in a way that stops it from opening all the way. This will help if you have a door knob that often bangs against the wall.

Let the cat play with it. If your cat feels as though he or she doesn't have enough toys to play with, or have seem to misplaced theirs, pull out one of your hacky sacks. Rub it in cat nip and your cat will have a good time batting at it. The weight of the hacky sack will make sure that it stays in the same general area. No need to retrieve it from underneath a couch or from behind the fridge. The cat nip is the key to keeping your cat interested in the hacky sack.

Throw at your coworkers. When you're in the office there is bound to be one coworker that works your last nerve or playfully picks on you. This is where your hacky sack ball comes in handy. It's light enough to easily throw and get a good distance on it. It's also soft enough to not hurt your coworker. As long as you throw the hacky sack in a friendly manner, you shouldn't get reported to human resources. If you do, just say you were trying to make amends with a friendly game of catch.

Stress reliever. Piggy backing off of the last suggestion, you can use the hacky sack at work as a stress reliever. Hold the hacky sack in your hangs and squeeze. The sound and textured feel of the beans inside should provide some comfort to you during a stressful day. If not, revert back to the previous suggestion.
