Alternative Music Clubs in Las Vegas: Divebar the Off-Strip Venue

Divebar Offers Cheap Live Entertainment, Good Food and Good Beer

For alternative music fans who travel to Las Vegas, it can seem like mean streets for any good music. However, there are a few clubs, both on and off strip, which play live and recorded alternative music. Different clubs play differing styles of music, and you can find something for your musical taste somewhere in Las Vegas. Whether it's a tiny divebar or an alternative rockstar afterparty at an upscale club, you can find the right alternative music club in Las Vegas.

If you are looking to bring a date to a few exciting places in Las Vegas, but you can't afford the Vegas Strip or are downright sick of the hustle, bustle, lights, and fakery, you and your date may feel at home at Divebar. Divebar is an alternative-music centric bar in a shopping plaza near UNLV in Las Vegas. Las Vegas locals and visitors alike flock to Divebar for cheap tunes and, oddly enough, a finely operated kitchen.

Divebar is a small club which is located a couple miles off strip in Las Vegas. One thing about traveling to Las Vegas with non-Vegas tastes is that you will find yourself in dire need of a car. Though there are many on-strip alternative music options, many of them can be downright expensive, so if you have a bit of a shallow pocketbook, you may want to check for a reasonable car rental deal online.

Divebar is what it says it is: a dive bar. They house local and out-of-town independent acts at small concerts that are free or cheap to attend. Divebar has good beer on tap and, according to Myspace, a lot of cute girls as regulars. If you need a break from the Vegas strip, Divebar offers a close option for an experience that is far away from your local Vegas fare.

Divebar also serves food. It also has a great location, located next to some of the best inexpensive entertainment in town. If food and cheap entertainment aren't enough for you, you can always head right across the street to the discount movie theatre or the awesome Pinball Hall of Fame. Among the three entertainment options in this area, I would venture to say that this area of town is one of the best alternative music date nights in town. You can take your date out for a movie, drinks, and video games all in one little part of town.
