Alternative Remedies for Clearing the Mind

How to Enjoy a Clear and Healthy Mind After the New Year Celebrations

According to the ancient oriental art of Feng Shui, energy is all around us and for energy to be healthy and healing, it needs to be moving and fluid. Where energy gets blocked or remains still, it becomes stagnant. A cluttered house can contain a lot of this stagnant, unhelpful energy.

How does this affect your health and thinking you might be wondering? Well, clutter builds up over time and clutter consists of items and objects belonging to the past. These objects will be associated with memories, good and bad. When physically surrounded by clutter, it is like having all this emotional baggage around you too.

Having a good clear out can make you feel instantly brighter and lighter, mentally and emotionally. All the stagnant energy is released and starts flowing more positively around you. Rooms will feel more spacious and less heavy. You will start feeling more healthy.

A cluttered home can reflect a cluttered mind. What's on the outside reflects what is within. A cluttered home makes it so much more difficult to find things. You bcome agitated knowing it would be better to have everything more tidy and in its place. Some people will be surrounded by what they feel is a reasonably tidy clutter. They will say they know where everything is and there is organisation amongst this chaos. Even so, there is still all that stagnant energy in the air, affecting their mental and emotional health.

It isn't just homes, offices, gardens and workplaces that, once cleared out, will benefit your mind and body. Cupboards and drawers that are over flowing with junk can make you feel instantly downhearted the moment they are opened. Even when closed, your mind is well aware of all that is lurking within!

Carrying a cluttered handbag wherever you go means you are carrying a load of stagnant energy. Clear out your bags, wallets, cupboards, rooms and wardrobes and you will be amazed at how lighter you feel and how much more clearer your thinking starts to be.

So next time you are feeling anxious or you can't sleep because you cant switch off your cluttered thoughts, one way to help calm your mind is to clear away the clutter that surrounds you. An orderly environment will help you organise your thoughts more easily.

Think too about the need to be alone to relax and meditate. How cluttered is your schedule? Are you doing too much for others and not enough for yourself? Does it feel as if you could do with more than 24 hours in a day? Try to calm your lifestyle, leave spaces in your diary just for yourself.

Declutter your surroundings and your agenda and discover a more serene inner-you.
