Instead of throwing out what might have been a pricey piece of furniture, you can give that armoire new life with a new use. It's a great way to recycle an old piece of furniture.
Here are some alternative uses for old television armoires:
Home office space. You can use an old television armoire to hold your computer, laptop and other office supplies. Since the computer monitor can be tucked away (if the armoire has doors) this will be a more stylish option. If it doesn't have doors, the armoire still offers a dedicated space in which you can work. This will be especially helpful if you use the room for more than one function
Craft storage. If you're into crafting, you can use the armoire to hold your best crafting supplies such as paper, yarn and scissors. You can add a few pieces of hardware, such as rods and hooks to make the armoire even more functional for your storage needs. Since this piece will serve for a creative purpose consider painting it a fun, bold color to keep with the theme.
Accessory organizer. If you're a woman, you can never have too much storage for your accessories. Turn your old television armoire into a place where you can store your scarves, purses and jewelry. If you're a male there are probably plenty of things you could place in an organizer such as hats, shoes and watches. When using an armoire with doors you won't have to worry how cluttered it might get and it'll be impressive to shave such a fine piece in your space.
If the armoire doesn't have doors, you can use it to place your items on display. If the unit does have doors, you'll have a place to hide some of your more valuable pieces out of view. Consider adding a lock to the armoire if you have more expensive tastes.
By using one of these options above you'll be able to turn your old television armoire into a more functional piece of furniture for your home. Since you already own it you know it fits right in with your décor. Just a few tweaks will give the armoire new life.
