Alvesco Changed My Aunt's Life

The Benefit of Alvesco on a Long Time Asthma Sufferer

B J Abel
My aunt (Sally) has been a lifelong sufferer of Asthma, which has been a burden on many aspects of her life. For years she only had treatment to help with attacks in progress with no preventive treatment that worked. She had long ago given up on them many steroid based prescriptions out there. Just recently her doctor had her try Alvesco, a corticosteroid that prevents inflammation in the lungs, to give one last try for a preventive medicine.

Sally was suffering from Asthma attacks 3-4 times a week and anytime she was in a smoke filled area. She would depend on her inhaler for anytime an attack happened and be cripple until it passed. A preventative medicine was pipe dream after years of failed attempts with some of the other most common drugs on the market. It was only luck that she decided, years later, to give one more try at 40 years old.

Initially Sally had a few minor side effects. She complained of a scratchy throat and a strange taste in her mouth for the first week. The doctor explained these are normal and should go away with time as they did by week 2. In the first week Sally had 2 Asthma attacks, which gave her little hope that the new drug was working, but by week two she was attack free for the first time since she can remember. This lasted and Sally averaged an attack a month for the first three months after the initial week.

Sally is a new person and no longer has the fear of falling into an attack in the middle of an outing or at work. While she still has to avoid smoke filled spaces Alvesco has given her a new lease on life and I've never seen her happier.

Alvesco can have several side effects and should never be used without a prescription. Ask you doctor if this medicine is something that might work for you, but if you asked my Aunt she's say it was a homerun!
