Jason Lee stars as the main human character in this newly revised and updated version of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Lee does a great job of being the human friend of the virtual chipmunks and interacts in a way that is believable.
The main plot of the movie is the chipmunks must develop a music contract to help pay Lee for damages done to his life. As the chipmunks get somewhat famous they start to lose their innocence and Lee struggles with keeping them decent little chipmunks, wholesome and pure. Lots of chipmunk antics, cute chipmunk music, and slapstick humor fill the movie with enough fun for the whole family.
This is a good movie for kids as there are no outright adult like issues that creep into the plot, no horrible language, and a reasonable somewhat moral story for the kids to enjoy. Most parents will be able to sit through this movie, non-parent adults might not enjoy this one.

Thanks for the review. Glad to hear this one is well-suited to the kids. I think I'll enjoy this, too. I used to love the Chipmunks when I was growing up and I still know the theme song. LOL :-)
