Alvita Melatonin Peppermint Tea Makes for Sweet Dreams and Sound Sleep

Tea Perfect Blend for R&R

I have coffee and the morning and tea at night. This is a rather new trend for me. During a nasty cold, I found relief in green tea and honey. When I went back to the store for more tea, I was amazed at how many blends and brands there are. Why didn't I drink more tea, I thought. Most recently, I found Bigelow's Sweet Dreams tea to be a splendid blend before bedtime.

Then, I stumbled across Alvita's Melatonin Peppermint tea while looking for products for my new e-commerce site, TheDreamDrawer.com. Could this top the Bigelow Sweet Dreams tea? I placed an order, but was required to buy four boxes of 18 bags each. I hope I like it, I thought.

I was excited when the tea arrived, but knew since it had the natural sleep aid melatonin in it, I should wait until the evening to brew my first cup. I opened a box right away, however, to get a glimpse of the tea. The packaging isn't as fun or hip as the other teas I've tried. Rather than individually-wrapped tea bags, the box contains bags that are joined by the twos. (I later learned this is called an English tea pillow.) I ripped along the perforated seam to get a single tea bag. I raised the Alvita Melatonin and Peppermint tea bag to my nose and inhaled; minty and uplifting.

Later that evening, I boiled hot water and poured it in a teacup over the bag. Not one for really hot things, I waited a few minutes for the tea to lose its scald. This soothing tea has two ingredients that make for a wonderful night. First, the peppermint instantly calmed me, destressed me and got me in that relaxation mode. Then, the melatonin takes over, makes my eyes flutter and eventually takes me into a wonderful slumber filled with vivid dreams- more vivid than they normally are I might add!

Alvita's Melatonin Peppermint tea doesn't taste as flavorful as some other teas I like, but it does the job. I love mint, but it's a new sensation to me in liquid form. I would recommend the tea to anyone looking to calm down before bed.

Alvita, a TwinLab company, has been making herbal tea for about 75 years and the melatonin peppermint is just one of a few dozen varieties.
