Amanda Knox: Corrupt Italian Prosecutor Mignini Used Random Knife as Phony Murder Weapon; AKPart3

Rik Merchant
Update 2/27/10. British Meredith Kercher, 21, was murdered on the night of November 1 2007 in Perugia, Italy. Three persons were ultimately blamed- her roommate American Amanda Knox, 20; Amanda's then-boyfriend, Italian Rafaelle Sollecito, 23; Ivorian Rudy Hermann Guédé, 20. Although Chief Prosecutor Giuliano Mignini fabricated a sordid story of a drug-infested sex orgy for four forced on Meredith whose refusal cost her life, there is a true story with just one murderer.

This third article in a series that will show Amanda Knox is innocent is devoted to the supposed murder weapon.

Chief Prosecutor Mignini has no murder weapon, unless one counts the random knife collected by police from Raffaele Sollecito's apartment five days after the murder. They found a few knives and several other types of utensils in a kitchen drawer and picked out the shiniest and cleanest one to use for DNA lab tests. They did not pick out any utensils to use as controls in the DNA testing.

The Polizia Scientifica found Amanda's DNA on the knife handle. Considering that Amanda frequently stayed the night at Raffaele's and cooked in his kitchen, the result is expected. However, Dr. Patrizia Stefanoni claimed to have found the DNA of murder victim Meredith in a scratch at the tip of the blade. There was no blood, just a Low Copy Number (LCN) of DNA- which typically means 15 to 20 cells. However, in this case, the Low Copy Number was six. Just 6 DNA cells were found on the one knife blade.

Because there are so few cells in LCN DNA to replicate in the process of identifying them with their owner, there is an error percentage that increases exponentially with every replication. It cannot be accurately pinned to a particular person. Per the FBI forensic science department, a mixed sample can produce as many as 60,000 profiles.

Another point to consider is that a person has not necessarily been to the location where his LCN DNA is found. For example, when Bill and Ann touch hands, they exchange DNA. Suppose Bill goes to a bar for a drink. As he holds a glass, a High Copy Number of his DNA transfers to it- and a Low Copy Number from Ann, still on his fingers, also transfers to the glass. This trace of Ann's LCN DNA, if stringently tested by a trained scientist, could place Ann at the bar, even though she was never there. As such, LCN DNA is inadmissible in a U.S. court. Several countries that were allowing LCN DNA as court evidence have discontinued its use.

If Meredith's LCN DNA was on Sollecito's kitchen knife, it could have been transferred there from Amanda, who shared an apartment with Meredith and a bathroom. Yet, the knife as well as other evidential items were contaminated before reaching the lab. Further contamination may have occurred in the lab where large quantities of Meredith's DNA were on hand. In fact, Dr. Patrizia Stefanoni's attributing the 6 LCN DNA cells on the knife blade to Meredith rose out her incompetent negligent lab work in testing the cells.

The prosecution claimed Meredith was stabbed in the neck with two knives because one neck wound was larger than the two others. However, the same knife could have made the different-size wounds. "It is simple for a small knife to make either a small, or a large wound. It is nearly impossible for a large knife to make a small wound. So the prosecution had to come up with the two-knife theory to include Raff's [Raffaele's] kitchen knife," states businessman and meticulous researcher Mark C. Waterbury, Ph.D. on his Website Freeaman. Another point of interest regarding Raffaele's kitchen knife is that it does not match the blood outline of a knife at the crime scene.

At some point, the prosecution leaked the news of a murder suspect- Raffaele- of having a knife collection to the Italian media. For many people, the idea of a knife collection typically conjures up images of sharp gleaming knives neatly laid out either under a glass case or inside a wood box- or mounted behind glass on a wall. The idea of a knife collection belonging to a murderer conjures up horror. However, Raffaelle's 'knife collection' consisted simply of two folding pocket knives.

Amanda's DNA is in the apartment that she shared with three other girls, including Meredith, and it is in the bathroom that she shared with Meredith alone. The DNA is from her normal use of the apartment and bathroom. Her DNA was not found in the elements of the actual murder crime. However, the person whose DNA infiltrates the crime scene is that of Rudy Guédé.

Guédé was an acquaintance of one or two of the four young Italian men who shared the downstairs apartment in Amanda's cottage. He knew that all four men would be away for the long weekend of All Saints Day. Amanda's roommates Laura and Filomena were also away. Amanda was at Raffaele's- there is proof of this and will be shown in a later article. Meredith was the only one who was expected to spend the night after All Hallow's Eve, November 1, in a cottage usually occupied by eight persons. And Guédé, a known thief and knife-wielder (this will be shown in a later article), intended to break in. His DNA was found throughout the crime scene- and inside Meredith's body. His DNA inside her body was said to be from saliva.

Meredith's bra clasp, cut from her bra, supposedly has a small amount of Raffaele's DNA, thus implicating Amanda in the prosecution's eyes. However, the bra clasp sat in the cottage for forty-seven days after the murder and before the police remembered to collect it for evidence. By then, the bra clasp, although still there, lay a short distance away in a new spot.

The bra clasp, shown in a photo taken on November 3, was in a distinctly-different location of the room when it was photographed on December 18. This variation and 47-day time lapse indicate gross contamination of evidence. Anyone's DNA could have found its way onto the bra clasp during the lapse and as well as onto the other debris in the room. DNA floats in the air as dust does. Or picture how readily the dandelion puff with its individual parachutes- seeds crowned with plumose hairs- drift away with the least-provocative air current .

To see the collapse of the prosecution's so-called bra-clasp evidence and other evidence, visit here. You will also see a video in which the police further contaminate the bra clasp by handling it repeatedly until finally dropping it on the floor. Their gloves were likely contaminated before they even handled the bra clasp.

This series of articles, based on my research and the extensive research of reputable experts, will show why Amanda Knox is innocent. They will show she did not kill Meredith Kercher. She did not abet in a killing. She did not try to engage Meredith in a drug-infested sex orgy for four. She did not have a murder motive. She was not the shadowy figure in a grainy film. She was not kissing her boyfriend while Meredith's body was still in the house. She did not do cartwheels in the police station. She bought underwear out of necessity, not frivolity- the police had locked her out of her home. Amanda Knox was not at the crime scene.

Amanda Knox is innocent. In the course of learning this fact, you will also learn that corrupt Chief Prosecutor Giuliano Mignini is a persecutor with ridiculous delusions and that the evidence against Amanda Knox is nonexistent. Read 'Why "The Knife" Was NOT The Knife' by Mark C. Waterbury, Ph.D.

One of the jurors interviewed after the verdict said that all the civilian jurors cried over the verdict and could not sleep after the verdict.
This tells me that there was a great feeling that something was wrong. This is what people do when they have a doubt but are being forced to something that they know is wrong. This is what happened in this case. They had very serious doubt about this verdict and did not want to convict. They cried over being forced to do something wrong.

If Knox and Sollecito were guilty, the jury would have been comfortable with their verdict and no tears would have been shed. They would have rested well the night before...but they lied.

And how primitive is it for Italy to ask for 9 months of solitary confinement for a 20-year-old girl? Now that's vulgar and abusive.

It's time to Flood The Cell again.

July 9 is Knox's Birthday. Send her a Birthday greeting at the following address:

    Amanda Knox
    c/o Casa Circondariale
    Strada Pievaiola
    06100 Capanne (PG)
    Italy

Be civil and resist the temptation to trash Italy.
Continue, however, to boycott Italian products.

Do you believe Amanda Knox is guilty? If your only sources are tabloid headlines and one or two websites that post hateful propaganda, you'll want to hang her. But when I looked past the accusations with an open mind at her side of the story, I cried and wanted to hug her. I challenge you to look at both sides before you make up your mind.
Proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt? Not even close.
Please...look for the truth and don't be part of the witch hunt.

According to 427 page "motivation" document, the murder wasn't premeditated. With this theory, the judges needed a reason for Raffaele's kitchen knife to somehow make it over to Meredith's cottage so it could be used in the murder. The report states that Raffaele most likely suggested to Amanda that she should carry the knife in her purse for protection. How many women carry large bulky kitchen knives around in their purse for protection?
How about these safety suggestions? Do these sound reasonable?

    1. Always walk in groups.
    2. Avoid walking in secluded areas after dark.
    3. Carry pepper spray.
    4. Take a self defense course.
    5. Carry large kitchen knife in purse.

Really? That's honestly how the knife made it's way over to the cottage? I think it sounds ridiculous. How about you?

Use some common sense and look at the real Amanda Knox vs. the myths and nonsense put out by the Italian authorities. They had no real evidence against her, so they slandered and vilified her in the press to create an atmosphere and assumption of guilt before the trial even started. Ignore the lies and look at the facts and you'll see the evidence for a conviction just doesn't exist.
At least be honest and look at her side of the story before you decide:

There is no credible evidence linking Amanda Knox or Raffaele Sollecito to this crime. Meredith Kercher's death was an act of extreme violence. Evidence of this crime was quickly spread throughout the crime scene. There is no credible evidence that puts Amanda Knox or Raffaele Sollecito in the room at the time of the murder.

There is not one fingerprint, not one footprint, not one shoe print, not one hair, not one fiber, no sweat, no saliva, no blood, and no DNA of any kind that puts Amanda Knox or Raffaele Sollecito in the room at the time of the murder.

Why? The answer is very clear. There was no evidence putting Amanda Knox and Raffaele sollecito in the room at the time of the murder because they were NOT there.

Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have been wrongly convicted. Please look past the distraction of the media frenzy. Please take the time and discover the truth today. Please visit: http://www.injusticeinperugia.org

If you think Amanda Knox is guilty, then why? Because you heard someone say so? Because you accepted without questioning some myth about a cartwheel or accusing an innocent man? (Not true.) If the information you heard is wrong, then so is your conclusion. If she was your daughter/sister/friend, wouldn't you want people to listen to both sides of the story before deciding?

There have been many articles printed over the past two years that are filled with misinformation. All of this is just noise. It's all a big distraction. Look past the distraction. Silence the noise. Look at the actual facts of this case. Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have been wrongly convicted. Meredith and her family deserve justice. Imprisoning two innocent people will bring neither peace nor justice for Meredith Kercher. Discover the truth today. Visit: http://www.injusticeinperugia.org
