The Amapola restaurant has experienced success in the twenty five years it has been in the Inland Empire and continues to grow. Amapola's food is reasonably priced ranging from $2.60 for a soft taco to $7.60 for a full dinner.
The carne asada served at Amapola is savory marinated flank steak seasoned with generous amounts of fresh cilantro and raw onions. Carne asada can be ordered as a burrito or as a soft taco. The carnitas with salsa verde are tender and have a slow cooked taste. Amapola's signature green sauce made from garlic and peppers is hot, tangy and delicious. Amapola also makes fresh tortillas at the restaurant.
If you order a burrito you can choose to have beans and rice added to it. The carne asada burrito packs true Mexican flavor. The special burrito and special grande are large enough to share with co-workers and friends. I also recommend the soft tacos for sampling the wide range of regional flavors.
During lunch time Amapola is always has a line of local workers eagar for food. A drive through is available at some Amapola locations. Expect to spend about ten minutes from the time that you place your order to the time you receive your food in the restaurant. Visit Amapola on Saturdays and Sundays for a large bowl of Menundo which costs $7.00. Amapola is one of the best small Mexican restaurants in San Bernardino offering fast service and homemade Mexican food for a reasonable price.
