Aloe vera contains twenty minerals, twelve vitamins, 20 amino acids, and over 200 active enzymes and polysaccharides that the body needs for health and well-being. All of these things contribute to the value of the plant, and make it very good for the human body.
The aloe vera plant can do many things for the human body. It helps to strengthen the immune system, it helps to regulate and boost metabolism, cleanses the body of toxins, helps bring a feeling of calmness to the body, destroys bacteria, fungus, and viruses, helps to disinfect and stimulate new cell growth, it nourishes the body and helps to support a healthy digestive system. Overall, aloe vera helps to keep the human body in a pretty balanced state.
Medically speaking, aloe vera has been known to help treat skin infections, cuts, and burns. It has also been used effectively in treating asthma, arthritis, gingivitis, constipation, muscle strains ,bronchitis, obesity, anemia, insomnia, depression, and even for controlling the side effects of chemotherapy, diabetes, hepatitis, and multiple sclerosis. It has been known to help lower cholesterol levels. The use of aloe vera is recommended for treating and controlling acne. It is also recommended to take aloe internally before long trips to help prevent dehydration.
Many products are made from the aloe vera plant for medical and therapeutic purposes. It is the most widely used ingredient in the cosmetic industry, as well as the pharmaceutical industry. It is used to help make vitamins, lotions, sunburn gels, acne treatments, as well as laxatives.
The aloe vera plant is one that is very easy to grow. It requires a lot of light, sun light or artificial light, and just a little bit of water. It grows and reproduces on its own, though it seems to reproduce best if there are two or more plants next to each other.
With all of its medical and therapeutic uses, and the ease of growing it, every one should have at least on plant in their home.
