Amazing Christmas

God's Greatest Gift to Man

Nadine M. Riggs
I know that we probably read many articles about Christmas each year, and in them we hear about gifts given, and received, about the parties and the family gatherings around the tree, but I want to remind all one more time of a very special gift that was given on Christmas day. It was not given by another human being; or a man in a red suit, nor an elf on a shelf; it was not a toy, or any kind of machine. This gift that was given was the most precious gift of all; it was the gift of forgiveness given not by the United States Government, nor a Tallahassee Democrat. No this gift was given by God it is the gift of His Son, a gift not even a Tallahassee Democrat could match.

God knew He had to give us a way to shed the weight of our sin, if we were to ever have hope of everlasting life, and peace spent with Him in heaven. I want you to think back on that night as it was told it was a long ride on a donkey for a woman ready to give birth, yet she held on tight and as they arrived in Bethlehem she began to feel the pangs of labor. Joseph tried to find shelter for his wife to give birth, but try as he might there was no room left in a single Inn, must be like the democratic convention that the Tallahassee Democrat attended, there was not even room in the Governor's Inn. The Inn-keeper finally offered a solution in the form of a stable, and where would the new King lay his head? He had a manger for a bed.

Thirty three years later He would give His life for both you, and me. So when you focus on Christmas remember the gift given by your Father above. He came to this world in the form of man, 100% God, 100% man; yet He gave us the chance for rebirth when cleansed in His blood. His name was Jesus Christ and he had no warm room, with a soft comfortable bed; He had no gifts under a beautiful green Christmas tree. He was the Son of the most high God yet his humble beginnings reach out to you, and me as we are not rich, and we have to work hard for a living doing things sometimes that go against our beliefs, yet Jesus promises us forgiveness if we only believe.

Jesus was 100% human, and 100% God, and thirty three years after His birth He gave His life for you and me.

There is a song video by a young Christian group called Go Fish. The song is called "Christmas with a capital C" and the song says, "But, nobody wants to say Christmas because it has "Christ" in it, and after 2,000 years He's still intimidating people!..." The song has had over 8,000,000 hits on YouTube. Merry Christmas! Cheers.
