Amazing Race Season Finale Awards Million Dollar Prize

Season 15 of The Amazing Race Crowned Its Winner on Sunday Night's Episode

The Amazing Race season finale happened last night, but this Amazing Race season finale seemed a bit tame when compared to some of the past finales. This is the 15th season of The Amazing Race that just came to an end, and it seemed like they couldn't come up with exciting ideas to use in the final episode of the season. It did end up awarding the million dollar prize though, as dating couple Megan and Cheyne (pronounced Shane) ended up walking away with the ultimate prize. They had really dominated the show this season, and when it came down to who deserved to win the most, it was definitely this couple.

The Amazing Race is a reality competition show that airs on CBS in both the fall and the spring, and has contestants race around the world. Typically the teams consist of pairs of people that have some relation to each other or have known each other for quite some time. Past contestants have included two brothers, two sisters, married couples, co-workers, best friends, and even father-son teams. As the teams travel around the world, they participate in competitions that lead to lots of competition within the race, with a team eliminated from the race almost every week. The first team to make it all the way around the world while completing all of the tasks wins a one million dollar cash prize.

The final three teams that were left in the Amazing Race season 15 finale were the dating couple of Megan and Cheyne, married couple Brian and Ericka, and brothers Sam and Dan. Many teams were eliminated along the way, leaving just these three teams left to complete the final leg that led them through the streets of Las Vegas. The different stages of this final leg involved going through the Mandalay Bay, Mirage, and Monte Carlo Casinos, completing many different tasks, meeting Wayne Newton, and eventually making their way to the finish line where every team that was eliminated was waiting to congratulate them.

For the most part this season finale was an interesting episode, but it wasn't as exciting as I felt that a season finale should be depicted. Maybe it was because the streets of Las Vegas seemed empty as the teams came through there, or maybe it was the tasks that took away from the excitement. Counting chips, finding a church to watch a wedding ceremony and finding a specific hotel room wasn't all that exciting. They did have to repel from one of the hotels, but that's only really exciting if you are the person doing it. Hopefully there are still a lot of exciting ideas to come in the next season, but the best detail from this season was that the best team did end up winning rather than it turning out to be a lucky finish.
