Amazing Skydiving Experience - Without the Plane Jump!

Maddie Wells
I am not a risk-taking adventure-seeking adrenaline junkie. However, indoor skydiving looked like the kind of experience that was fun without the danger of jumping out of an airplane. And sure enough, that's what it was!

They tell you to arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled time. This is in order to register, decide to purchase a DVD and/or picture(s) of your flight, and watch other fliers during their experience. Then about 30 minutes before the flight, the group goes to watch a video about important information on how to fly properly and understand your instructor's hand signals. Then we suited up (suit, goggles, helmet, ear plugs) and got ready to go.

We went one at at time (at least with our group) and it's a minute-long, unless you get a more expensive package (I did the "Earn Your Wings" which is a basic, two one-minute flights). It was well worth the price, I must say. It took some getting used to - I had to remember to breathe! But it was sooo much fun!

After everyone gets to fly (whether it's only once, twice, or 4 times!) then we were allowed to choose a picture(s) to either receive by email or hard-copy photograph. Plus the DVD, which only took 5-10 minutes to get. I didn't watch the whole DVD but it looks like it recorded the entire group experience - which meant I had to fast forward to find my two flights!

The only issue I had with this entire experience was the ordering online. I was able to schedule my flight okay, and pay for it, but I got a call a few hours before my flight saying to call back to reschedule - I had requested an 8:30 flight, but apparently they closed at 8! CityWalk (where iFly is) had to change their times; however, their website still shows they close at 9. However, they were able to get me in at 7 so it all worked out. I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure their hours of operation before ordering online!

Other than that, I couldn't ask for a better experience! The instructor was great (and funny!) and he did show off his flying skills after we were all done with out flights. Everyone who worked there were really nice and helpful!
