Amazing ways to use cream of tartar # 1: Remove stains in a bathtub
This is a simple, inexpensive way to remove stains that build up in your bathtub. Just get a small container and fill it with some cream of tartar and add a few drops of hydrogen peroxide until it forms a thick paste. Apply the paste to the stain and allow it to dry. When it has completely dried, then you will remove the paste and be pleasantly surprised that the stain is gone. No need for scrubbing and using expensive cleaning products.
Amazing ways to use cream of tartar # 2: Brighten aluminum pots
If you have found that your once beautiful aluminum pots have become discolored, don't fret, here is an easy way to get it shining once again. Create a mixture of two tablespoons of cream of tartar that is dissolved into one quart of water into the pot. Set the pot on the stove and bring it to a boil, let it boil for about ten minutes. After ten minutes, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool part way. Wash the pot as normal and there you have it, a beautiful pot once again.
Amazing ways to use cream of tartar # 3: Make the kids some play clay
You won't have to spend good money on the expensive store bought play clay; you can easily make it yourself at home. You will need to add together two tablespoons of cream of tartar, one to two tablespoons cooking oil, four cups plain flour (the one without the rising agents), and one cup of salt. Stir all these ingredients well with a wooden spoon, and then slowly stir while adding four cups of water. Place the mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, making sure to stir occasionally until the mixture thickens. You will know when it's ready when it forms into a ball that is not sticky. If you want to add food coloring for more fun, than you can. After letting it cool, give it to the kids to make all sorts of fun, creative things. After the kids are done playing with the clay, make sure to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator, because it has a tendency to dry out easily.
I bet you didn't know that cream of tartar could be so versatile and so much fun. Try some of these simple tips today.
