Amazing Yoga's Three Pittsburgh Locations
Amazing Yoga has three locations in the Pittsburgh area. The original location is on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside. The other two locations are in Wexford and on East Carson Street in Pittsburgh's Southside.
Amazing Yoga - What to expect?
If it is your first visit to Amazing Yoga, the first thing you notice is that it is that it is pretty warm inside this yoga studio. At Amazing Yoga, the heat is kept at a temperature of around 90 degrees, not quite as hot as Bikram yoga but pretty hot nonetheless. You may also notice that there are just about as many guys as girls in the room (though that was not the case during my latest visit). The studio at Amazing Yoga is one big room with hard wood floors and big windows. There is no shower, and you will sweat during this intense power yoga class so you should plan accordingly. Amazing Yoga is run by the husband and wife duo, Sean and Karen Connelly. The classes are open to all experience levels and while they are intense (Amazing Yoga teaches a version of Power Yoga based on the teachings of renowned yogi, Baron Baptiste), the instructors encourage you to go at your own pace.
Amazing Yoga - The Important Stuff
Amazing Yoga welcomes drop-ins. There is a suggested drop-in fee of $14. There are also several passes available. A pass for five classes costs $55 and a pass for 10 classes costs $100. Recently, Amazing Yoga has switched their payment system to a "donation base". While the suggested donation is $14, those who cannot afford that rate are encouraged to give what they can afford. The donation box is anonymous. The studio also offers many special classes taught either by Amazing Yoga's various teachers or by guest teachers. The prices for these vary and more information is available on their website at; www.amazingyoga.com. There are three Amazing Yoga studios in the Pittsburgh area. The original location is on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside (this tends to be the most crowded location). There is also a location in Pittsburgh's Wexford area and on East Carson Street in Pittsburgh's Southside neighborhood.
