Amazon Kindle DX Review: The Best Electronic Book Reader

William Bass
The Kindle DX has a slim design that is about the diameter of most magazines. The size is perfect for carrying around reading eBooks or documents versus the traditional hardback copies that are often bulky and heavy.

The Kindle DX is a large display screen to accommodate a wide range of reading material, such as books, PDF documents, online newspapers, magazines, or other similar media. The Kindle DX has a 9.7" LCD screen that provides a large viewing area for all you different media to be displayed clear and crisp. The display of the screen on the Kindle produces no glares and allows you to read out in the sun with no reflection or glare on the screen. For those people that have a hard time reading the Kindle DX has a function that allows you to adjust the text size. This will help you from straining your eyes and provide you more options versus reading from a hardcopy.

Another great feature of the Kindle DX is the auto-rotating screen function where you can turn the Kindle sideways and view different forms of media with a landscape view versus the traditional horizontal view. The Kindle DX has a built in PDF reader where you can download this type of media documents and store them on the Kindle and allows you to carry them around with you versus carrying a huge pack of documents to meetings or on trips.

One of the strongest features of the Kindle DX it operates completely wireless and is ready for operation right out of the box. The Kindle DX has a long battery life where you can go for a couple of days without charging the battery. This of course depends on the use of the electronic book reader from the owner. The Kindle DX can be charged via a USB connection to a computer or with a wall charger and provides you two methods of charging depending where you're at such as home or on the road.

The Kindle DX comes with wireless access via Whispernet that consists of the Sprint 3G networks where you can download books and other document within 60 seconds or less. Talk about ease of use and a great time saver for the professional on the go. When you own the Kindle DX you get national wireless service in all 50 states where the Sprint 3G network is available that allows you to download books, newspapers, magazines, and blogs within 60 seconds. One of the best deals about owning a Kindle DX is that Amazon.com pays for the wireless connectivity so you won't be billed for any wireless activity.

The Kindle can store around 3,500 books and Amazon has a Kindle store where you can buy books, magazines and other related media. Most electronic books from the store cost around $10.00 versus the cost of buying a hard copy. You can even listen to audio books and you're able to download more than 60,000 audio titles from www. Audible.com. When downloading audio books from here you have to download to your PC first then transfer to the Kindle because of the size of the files. However, this is just another great deal of owning the Kindle DX. You can make bookmarks and annotations on the documents you have stored in the Kindle providing another great function for the end user.

The Kindle's read to me function is awesome where the electronic book reader will read books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers to you if the media has that option on that. If you pick this feature the cool thing is that the pages will automatically turn while the content is being read to you. This could possibly make reading fun again, but the feature only works if the media distributor has included that function on what you bought.

The Kindle DX is a cool gadget that can help you if you're a book reader or a person that has a lot of documents that you need to take on a trip. The functionality of the Kindle can help you save time and money since buying eBooks are half the cost of a traditional hard copy. I'm looking forward to the future advancements of the Kindle that will provide more functions and features for everyone's taste.
