Make Money Online Working from Home

Many of us all have books we don't wont any more so they sit in the loft or in cupboards never to be used again. Well you wouldn't let them sit there if you knew you could make money of them would you? As crazy as it sounds those DIY books, gardening books, car repair books, cooking books and business books all can be sold second hand for more than you think. I have put together a short step by step way in which you can make money of these books by selling them to other people via the net.

The first step to take is to dig out all the unwanted books you have but remember the quality of these books doesn't need to be perfect as they are used books, though you need to keep in mind that if they are damaged to the point that they are unreadable then the consumer is in his or her own rights to demand a refund.

Okay now you have these books its time to trial run them, so your thinking now where can I sell these books well the best place to start is Amazon. You can now sign up to this site to start selling your books.

• Enter your email address and click on 'No, I am a new customer' then enter on 'Sign in using our secure server'

• Fill out the form in the 'Or create a New Account'. After you have selected a password that you will remember click 'Create a new Account'

• This homepage will appear.

• You will then need to click on 'Sell on Amazon' which is highlighted in red under 'Make money with Us'

• Either enter the title of the book or enter the ISBN.

Where to find an ISBN number?

ISBN numbers are found on back cover of most books near the UPC symbol or barcode. This 10 or 13 digit number uniquely identifies the book.

Note: If you cannot find the book's ISBN number by the UPC or barcode, be sure to check inside the book where the copyright information is contained. Books published before 1970 will not have an ISBN number.

What Is An ISBN Number?

An ISBN number is the "International Standard Book Number" which is a unique ten or thirteen digit number that is assigned to every printed book. A book's ISBN number identifies the title and the publisher of the book it is assigned to.

All books printed after 1970 have been assigned a unique ISBN number. ISBN's allow you to search for a specific format as well since most ISBN numbers are different for the soft cover and hard cover version of a book.

Once you pull up your specific item, Amazon will take you through a few more steps asking questions about your item. They will want to know...

• What condition the product is in. Is it new, like new, used, torn to shreds, etc...? This is where you will want to write specifics about the product. Is the dust cover missing? Is the entire book underlined in hot pink?

• The price and quantity of your product is very important. I always recommend setting your product at the lowest price, if you don't you will have a very slim chance of selling it. Most buyers just look for the cheapest item and buy that. Another note: Amazon requires that you set the price at least 10% below the Amazon price. Choose the price. Note: go to the used books page for the book. Check and see the other prices of the books. Set the lowest price available (if this is feasible and affordable) or else set your own market value for the book.

• Select your shipping method. Here you can choose to expedite shipments or ship internationally if you choose.

• Amazon notifies you by email when the book sells. You must ship within two days of the book being sold. Package the book securely and write "You're Amazon Marketplace Purchase" on the envelope. Include a return address. Include the Amazon order slip. You can email the buyer, but this is not required.

• That is about it! Just repeat that process until you have all of your books (items) listed.

You have sold your first lot of books now you need to obtain some more. The best place to start looking is in charity shops and car boots you will find that you will pick them up for next to nothing and sell them for a few pounds, but don't get to zealous to fast find out what sells then start to increase your stock in that area. You don't want to get stuck with books that you cant sell.

A few things worth mentioning!!

Amazon charges lots of fees (only on items that sell). So be careful that you don't under cut yourself by selling the item to cheap.

This step is optional, but will definitely increase the chances that your books will sell and will help you sell them quicker. Normally every day or so I log into my account and adjust the prices of my items to make sure they are the lowest priced.

On the Seller Account Dashboard, click the link called "View your current inventory".

Here you will see all of your listed books. It will show you your current selling price and whether or not you have the lowest listed price. If you see a green ball under the low price column, you are in good shape. If you see a lower price, then you will want to click the edit link and lower your price a penny lower than the current lowest price.

If you want, you can waste your life away doing this all day long, but I prefer to do it in early evening - when many of the businesses selling these books are closed. That way I can normally have the low price until morning when they come back in.

Tips & Warnings

You may find that books that are for DIY, Cars, Cooking, Health, Maps, etc are easy to sell.

Books are listed for 60 days and then can be re listed. A Pro-Merchant can list a book until the book sells. If you're going on vacation, or otherwise leaving, within that 60 period, you should think about listing it when you get back-or get someone else to ship the book for you.

Money is transferred to your Amazon account every 14 days

Try your best and be patient and shrewd and you will turn this into a well earned extra income.
