Amazon Set to Hire in Hamilton County and Bradley County, Tennessee

Who hasn't heard of Amazon.com? That's a big company with a big name. And that big outfit is building two big distribution centers in the Lower Tennessee River Valley . The good news for this area, when we can sure use some, is that Amazon is ready to start hiring hourly employees.

When the April 27, 2011 tornadoes swept through leaving devastation and destruction in Bradley County, Tennessee, it not only took out homes, it took out businesses. That means people not only don't have places to live, many have no jobs. The news that Amazon is ready to hire, is a bit of good news amongst the rubble of Bradley County, Tennessee.

Amazon is scheduled to be open and operational in the fall. They are working on the building and construction is underway. In the spring Amazon put out word that they were accepting applications for top management positions.

Now they have announced that they will be accepting applications and they may hire up to 1,200 employees. That doesn't take into account seasonal employees which would total 2,000 for Bradley and Hamilton total.

Amazon is based out of Seattle , Washington and they have stated that the hourly jobs that they will be accepting applications for include picking, packing, shipping and receiving. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, 401-K, as well as annual stock grants, as reported by the Times Free Press.

Bradley County, Tennessee needs something to look forward to besides cleaning up tornado debris. People need jobs and they need hope. Speaking of the relief efforts taking place in Bradley County , a massive clean-up in progress.

Bradley County will recover. We lost 9 people during that horrendous tornado outbreak. The county looks nothing like it did prior to April 27, 2011, but we'll be back, better than ever!

    Amazon has dissed Illinois. We can't even make money on our blogs from them anymore because of the problems with Illinois government and that fact that Illinois is asking for so much in taxes that businesses are vacating Illinois in droves.
