Almost everyone knows that Itunes not only is a place to download music but also a place to buy or rent movies and tv shows. But is Itunes the best place to buy or rent video? I would personally think twice before buying a movie or tv show from Itunes and give Amazon a thought.

You may not know it but Amazon sells Video and tv shows on Amazon Video on Demand. This service just like Itunes lets you buy and rent your favorite tv shows and movies to watch. The two services may have the same goal of offering you digital video content to watch but Amazon Video On Demand has a few perks over Itunes video store.

Itunes is currently the more popular and widely known one while Amazon Video on Demand is not as widely known. The first thing we will compare between Amazon Video on Demand and Itunes video store is obtaining the tv show or movie. You think Steve Jobs and Apple would have had this figured out by now, but if you buy a movie on Itunes you have to download it, and this could take an hour or more depending on the length of the movie. Good quality digital videos can easily be up to a couple of gigabytes, so with itunes if you buy a lot of movies you can quickly and easily eat up all of your hard drive space. With Amazon Video on Demand since you can stream the movies as many times as you like and not have to download them, you are not using up any of your hard drive space. This means with Amazon Video on Demand you can have a pretty much limitless number of movies in your online collection that you can take anywhere with you. Itunes can not beat that.
