Amazon Women on the Moon A Review

John Sarkis
Amazon Women on the Moon was written by comedians Michael Barrie and Jim Mulholland. The movie is unique in the sense that it's one in two of its kind; the other film being the infamous "Kentucky Fried Movie."

The film's plot is so scattered that it's difficult to say exactly what's really going on. Wikipedia sources say this film is a spoof of mainly three films: Cat Women on the Moon (1953); Queen of Outer Space (1958), and Missile to the Moon (1958). However, at the other side of the coin: just like its older sibling "Kentucky Fried Movie"; Amazon Women makes fun of TV-commercials; the late night sixties guy/gal who can't sleep and wakes up in the middle of the night to grab a sandwich...he/she turns on the television (pre-cable days) only to realize the only thing playing is a third-rate sci-fi film. As a result; the quirkiest commercials under the sun are being shown at this time: multitude of them! Amongst the commercials being shown are: "Brothers with no Soul Club" (sponsored by a black community living in Bel-Air). BB-King also has a sort of infomercial discussing "no soul Simmons" (played by David Alan Grier); a black man who sings and dances merrily (a Danny Kaye type), and whom according to BB-King: has no soul! Amazon Women on the Moon (which is the title of the movie being shown) has the worst plot ever, and as cliff hangers approach; the movie's film projector keeps on breaking down. This movie is a million laughs which no enlightened soul can resist...cast members are numerous: Roxie Rocker, BB-King, Carrie Fisher, and too-many more to mention have a cameo in this film.

There are many places where you can find this film: Moviegoods.com, Amazon. Com, Netflix.com, Cduniverse.com, and Bestprices.com
