Amber Hay to Be Girls Gone Wild Magazine's Latest Cover Girl

On her Myspace page, model and actress Amber Hay's mantra is "Women who seek to be equal to men lack ambition." I don't think that many males will attain her most recent achievement: Amber is gracing the cover of the August issue of the Girls Gone Wild Magazine.

Since at least 1998 Mantra Films, Inc has been filming and selling this the enormously popular video franchise, which features unscripted party girls removing clothing for the film crew. In recent years, however, this franchise has been getting more than the usual negative press. Owner Joe Francis has been the focus of regular bad publicity (he once outraged the public when compared himself to Jesus) and several high-profile lawsuits. Ashley Dupree, Spitzer's infamous call girl, sued for 10 million, claiming that she was underaged when filmed on GGW (although she recently dropped the suit). The Wynn Los Vegas strip casino sued Joe Francis over millions in gambling debts. And last but not least, Francis has faced federal charges for over 20 million in fraudulent tax deductions.

Girls Gone Wild Magazine is the latest expansion of the smut distributor's empire. Begun in April 2008, the magazine is published every other month, featuring pictures of more "Girls Gone Wild" girls, GGW tours and events, and even some print writing. The magazine also includes its own DVD.

Amber Hay who turns 21 on July 27th, is a native Hawaiian and has been romantically linked to Joe Francis; in 2006 she was referenced in the VH1 series, "Fabulous Life of" as Joe's girlfriend, although she was only 18 years old at the time. Not afraid of notoriety, Amber has a history of playing kitschy roles, such as a fake Paris Hilton in the viral video ("Paris in Jail") spoofing the jail time of America's favorite heiress, as well as the "Cops" girl from the frat-friendly booze-drenched flick, "Beerfest." Amber has also broken into TV, guest-starring on "Entourage," "Reno 911," and the Courteny Cox FX series, "Dirt." Later this year, she'll star alongside Dennis Hopper in the retro grindhouse film, "Hellriders," as well as "Surfer Dude" with Matthew MacConaughey and Woody Harrelson. In 2009 she'll continue to leverage her notoriety by playing Paris Hilton (again) in the schlockfest "Hollywood Brats."

While the Girls Gone Wild cover does not help Amber break out of her "famous for being famous" reputation, it will certainly keep her in the dreams of every wishful teenager and in the mind of the public eye.
