Ambition, or Lack Of
Spiderman has webs of fright
Elvis could dance and he could sing
But I cannot do anything.
I could join a band
I could sound so grand
If it does not work out
I will give you a shout.
I think I will make a movie
I sure look cute and groovy
Or maybe be a ball player, he-he
And you can watch me on TV
I really would like to teach,
That is probably out of reach,
My students would like science and math,
A little of this and a little of that.
Right from the start
They would be too smart
To sit around and do nothing, like me
Waiting for favors to fall for free
My students would hunger for learning
Have goals with promising earnings
Not flying around like a bumble-bee
Trying to find a place to be.
I do not know what you mean
That I do not work and I am not clean
I do not want what it takes
Leave me be sitting on my old orange crates.
