Ambrosia Tahini Paste, Review

Katri Marson
Sometimes you should listen to what other people say and not care when it comes to price. At the moment I am talking about Ambrosia Tahini Paste, but it is advice that works for many things.

I did not take my advice one day not too long ago when I needed to restock my supply of tahini. I went to Amazon to purchase some more tahini. I had purchased some, another brand, prior on the Subscribe & Save program. I planned to get that brand again but I thought I would do a little checking for any that might be a little bit cheaper. Money is very tight right now for me.

I found Ambrosia Tahini Paste. It was $16.48 for a pack of 4. It was about $4 or $5 cheaper than my last brand. I decided the price difference was great enough that I should buy it, instead of re purchasing my last brand.

I read some opinions on it just to solidify my decision. All of the opinions were good. Though there was one opinion that stood out a little. One person who claimed the tahini was bitter. I know tahini has a tendency to be bitter. So I ignored that one post.

When I received it and tried it out. It was a bit bitter. I was surprised. It was more bitter than I thought it would be or was use to. There is a good chance that the excessive bitterness was only caused by the fact that the very last brand I bought was the best, least bitter of tahinis I have ever purchased.

The texture of the Ambrosia Tahini Paste was smooth and creamy with a good color, although lighter than most tahini products I am use to. It is thinner than I like and I am a bit confused how some tahini's can be really thin and others can be really thick when they all have the exact same single ingredient, sesame seeds.

Even though the Ambrosia Tahini Paste is more bitter than I would like it still compliments my recipes well. Although in a few recipes the bitterness shines though the recipe. I would buy Ambrosia again, but it would not be my first choice for tahini.

Thanks for the review, sounds like an interesting product. I am not sure I would like it if it's too bitter... Thanks for the heads up!
