Amel Larrieux Concert Review

Amazing Show

Amel Larrieux performed at the Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte, NC on June 13th and her performance was amazing. She came on a little late, but truly put her heart into each song. Accompanied with her five member band which included her fourteen-year-old daughter back up singer, Ms. Larrieux captured the hearts of the entire venue.

She wore a sleek black jump-suit dress with grey tights with fabulous black boots adorned with a really cool long necklace with different groovy stones. Her wrist game was ridiculous with at least four huge bangles with different shapes, sizes and colors all matching brilliantly.

She graced songs from multiple albums like Morning, Bravebird, Sweet Misery and others. She is such a beautiful singer. She was definitely immersed and involved in each song. Her voice has quite a range. Some of her songs were upbeat while others were melodic and dreamy. You can tell she loves to perform and her passion is music. She constantly thanked the crowd acknowledging that if it wasn't for us; she wouldn't be able to do what she loves.

"Amel's show was like a musical breeze. She drew you in and made you feel good. The show was smooth, a mixture of laid back NY swagger and softness that only she can bring. If you missed it you missed out," stated Anitra Terrell.

The best part of the show was when she serenaded her husband of many years with one of the sweetest love songs I have ever heard. The song is called, Make Me Whole. She literally brought tears to my eyes. It was one of the songs that make you want to gaze in admiration and jealousy. I want to be in love like that, I thought. The crowd had that "damn for real" look. I may have cried if the song progressed but luckily it ended before my tears rolled. I am a sucker for a good love song.

I would pay to see her any day and I took a lot of her good energy with me that lasted through out the week. If she comes to your city, you should definitely check her out.
