America in Decline

The most famous dream of all came to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon also known as Belteshazzar. After he awoke, he called for his consolers to interpret his dream. When the Chaldeans could not interpret his dream, the king ordered all of the wise men of Babylon to be executed. Arioch, whom the king commanded to execute the wise men, went in search of Daniel and his friends. Once Arioch found Daniel, Daniel asked him, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Arioch told him of the Dream. Daniel then went before the king and asked that he be given time to consider the dream and that he would make known the secret of the vision. That night the secret was revealed to Daniel.

The next day Daniel went before the king. (Daniel 2:31-35) This images head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. Daniel went on to explain that Nebuchadnezzar was a king of kings (Not to be confused with the king of kings our Lord Jesus Christ), granted power, strength and glory by the hand of God. He was the head of gold. After him another kingdom would arise represented by the silver, inferior to his and then a third represented by brass that would bear rule over all the earth. Then the fourth kingdom which would be strong as iron. Yet again that kingdom will pass and be followed by a fifth which is part iron and part clay. Then God will set up his kingdom which will never be destroyed. Gods kingdom will break in pieces all the others and consume them just as the stone became a mountain and filled the whole earth.

To understand Nebuchadnezzar's vision, one only has to take a long look at history. There have only been four empires to inhabit the earth. The first of course was the Babylonian Empire if you want to call it that. Then there was the Roman Empire represented by the silver. The British Empire which was obviously the belly and thighs of brass. Then our very own American Empire strong as iron, or the Soviet Empire behind the "iron curtain". Which leads us to the feet of iron and clay. Some believe that the "Empire of the Feet" is representative of the United Nations, the World Bank, the European Union and the coming North American Union. The theory is just that, a theory. However, could the "Empire of the Feet" be the global corporate dominance of world affairs? Or could it be the future one world government. I personally believe that we currently live under a one world government ran in secret by a few privileged individuals, yet what do I know, I am just one of the unwashed masses.
If you look back, there are certain signs of an empire in decline. One, the acceptance of homosexual behavior. Two, an unwillingness to protect ones borders. Three, random enforcement of law based on privilege and class or race. Four, a decline in moral values. I could go on, yet I digress. The poet Horace (BC 65-8) said: "Our parents, worse than our grandparents, gave birth to us who are worse than they, and we shall in our turn bear offspring still more evil." I found this quote on the website www.ourcivilisation.com/decline.htm. Is if coincidence that our children have no respect for themselves. Why do they call their women bitches and whores?
America was doomed from it inception. We live in a society where we are expected to leave home and strike out on our own to search out our fortune. When our forefathers knew that your wealth is in your family, not in your wallet. We have went from a society that had to depend on our neighbors in order to survive, to one that does not know our neighbors. And if we do know them, we despise them. Each successive generation of Americans hold in disdain the ways of our fathers. It shows in every aspect of our society. Who will drive a station wagon? Yet, we embrace the SUV, much like the panel van driven by your grandfather. On our televisions, the father used to know best, now he is the punch line. I could continue to ramble, however, its all just a theory. I sincerely hope that this stimulates conversation and further writing on the subject.
