America - a Disappearing Country?

ROCCO
America, is it a disappearing country. Once a country highly admired for its strength and resolve to make the world a better place, has now lost itself to greed, self-importance, partisan politics, lack of morals and crime. Where has our old America gone?

Our leaders are so concerned with telling us who to vote for on our ballots, preening over their good names, than they are about the actual welfare of our country. They have selected to look away from the reality of America today, the family unit is gone, the public system is a joke and getting worse, our middle and lower classes are disappearing; what I want is the old America back.

Our leaders look the other way and spend all their time pushing themselves forward towards the big-time, they are arrogant and haughty and have failed to focus on what the American people really want. Really need.

Our borders are now open to anyone and everyone and the number of illegal aliens in our country are getting a pat on the back and pardoned. This is all down to cheap labor and is in the name of big businesses and major companies, not in the name of America.

The war in Iraq has to be won but at what cost? Our brave citizens are sacrificing themselves for America and our big-headed elected officials really should have all attended a course on Foreign Culture before they bulldozed into Iraq. Iraq is a culture entirely different to ours and yet our esteemed leaders felt that they just had to spread democracy among these ancient peoples.

Every country, religion or faith should be allowed to flourish openly. It is down to a handful of radicals and terrorists who dictated this war in the first instance and who should have been dealt with immediately and diplomatically. 9/11 was an horror story that unfolded before my very eyes and will never be wiped from my memory. I am absolutely not saying that a free-hand should be given to all religions, countries or faiths, however, I am saying that oil is at the centre of this entire fiasco.

Bring back my old America where our ideals were what we lived by. We had morals, we had family units, we had borders....which are needed. Why, you ask? The influx of illegals has cost the American taxpayer absolutely millions of dollars, now all gone as they are now Americans. Next Canada, Mexico and America can all join together and start bashing each other over the heads instead of having to travel thousands of miles to introduce democracy into Iraq or any other country we decided needs it.

Perhaps the only way in which to achieve finding happiness within America again is to write to all of our elected officials outlining our own issues, vote out all imcumbants and perhaps start another political party which will listen to their voters. "NONE OF THE ABOVE", comes to mind with the election drawing near.

  • american leaders are more concerned about getting us to vote for them than listening to what we want
  • the family unit no longer exists
  • our borders are now a free-for-all
America, my beloved country, is getting lost among a pile of politics, bigheads and bigots.

By the way--excellent article! It may interest readers to know that our own laws clearly state that a child born in this country automatically becomes a citizen ONLY if the kid's parents have entered America LEGALLY. Children of illegals cannot be "automatic citizens", but even our own politicians have forgotten that in their mad dash to get votes.

There is still hope for America, even though we're sinking fast. Again, this election, there is a candidate who will bring our troops back from the Middle East and put them on a really important job: guarding our southern border until a wall is built to keep out illegals, a candidate who has a plan for fair taxation rates (especially for the rich), and will control prices and wages so that it won't be only the top 15% of the population who can afford a home and food for their families--and also control the price of gas. Interested folks can contact me personally for info, because putting the Web Site URL here may violate AC rules.
