America Needs a Program-24 Hours a Day-Showing Only Missing Children
Which Television or Cable Company is Big Enough to Step Up to the Plate?
We have had "America's Most Wanted", Nancy Grace, Jane Valez-Mitchell, all of whom have handled broadcasting about missing children. This is wonderful, except, there is no way an hour long show can showcase all the missing children in America. We need one channel, that can be accessed by anyone with a television, where there is nothing but stories of missing children. Even if they do not tell the stories, just running pictures of these children could possibly catch the eye of someone who has seen that child. We have no brainer shows that spotlight how stupid people can look, or how funny it is to see someone get hurt, but we do not have one program that comes close to covering our missing kids. When given the choice of watching a girl tumble down the stairs on a flattened card board box or seeing their missing childs picture of the television, going around the country, reaching into millions of homes, I am sure a parent would choose the latter. As a matter of fact, I am sure most people would chose the latter.
How Much Would This Cost A Company?
Hopefully, it would not turn into the 15 minutes of commericials and 15 of the show, but I believe there would be any number of companies that would jump at the chance to be a part of this. Number One, its great P.R. Any company that would sponsor this station would get priceless advertisement and customers. Who would not buy or shop from a company that would sponsor a site exclusively for finding missing children. As hard as it might be to believe, not every home in America has a computer, and those that do are not as likely to go to a website like "The Center For Missing and Exploited Children" as they would be to turn the channel to a station where they could see many, many missing children.
How Could This Help Law Enforcement?
With a 24 hour station dedicated to missing children, law enforcement would have a partner in the American public. There is no way they could get a childs picture into even one third of the homes that a television program can. Instead of just local eyes on the look-out for this missing child, they would have millions of eyes looking.
Americans love a good cause and there can be no better cause than reuniting missing children with their parents. This would also be the chance to take child predators off the streets, many people would be more apt to turn someone in, if they could just call a number. America's Most Wanted was the perfect show for catching criminals, and this could be the perfect show for getting truly America's Most Wanted-Our Missing Children!
We need to write, email or call any large cable or television company and suggest this idea. If we could get this going, we could have the capability to save any number of childrens lives.
If our children are the future, we need to start saving the future now!
