When she called her dad, he told her that it was about maintenance paperwork not being turned in, and that the FAA grounded them for not doing so. She was also told by the airline that Southwest is picking up their flights. Of course, that will take hours and hours.
If she didn't walk around to find food in Chicago, she wouldn't have seen that, at another gate, that were picking up some of the flights canceled by American Airlines. Nobody told her about this flight, and she wouldn't have found out about it if she didn't go there by herself and started to ask questions. She finally received her boarding pass and is now on her way home to Texas.
This whole thing just inconvenienced thousands of people. There are so many people stuck at airports right now for whatever reason American Airlines is giving them. It is unfair for these people., American Airlines should try to figure out how to get their customers on a flight and not leave it up to them to find an airline that will take them to wherever they were going. These people spent the money thinking that they are able to get to their destination in peace and with no worries. This whole situation is out of hand and should be taken care of right away. This is how businesses lose their customers.
I know this isn't a first-hand experience, but I feel for my friend. I've been stuck in an airport with my husband before for hours without any idea what to do and where to go to be able to get a flight to our destination. It was a horrible experience and we were both exhausted from all the walking back and forth from one gate to another. Plus airport seats aren't very comfortable to sleep on. it isn't the greatest situation to be in and the fact that she's pregnant without her husband there just makes it worse for her.
Americans Airlines should really step up to the plate and get these thousands of people on a plane to their destination. Or they should get them a hotel or a place to stay at if they aren't able to get them a flight right away. It is just fair for these people, especially those who have their families with them. It is their fault why these people are stuck in an airport and they should take responsibility.

Post a CommentWhen the FAA called for a maintenance review of American Airlines' planes regarding its wiring, it ended up putting flights and service into haywire. Hopefully, planning for the next maintenance checks will done with more concern for passengers.
