The search option for flights is simple to use. Just plug in the cities you want to fly between as well as the dates, and your options will be brought up. You can make any sort of flight plans here: domestic, international, last-minute, first class, economy, special meal requests, and so on. The only thing is if you want to bring your dog on the plane (like I usually do), you should call American Airlines before buying the ticket. Keep them on the phone as you purchase the ticket, and have them make the reservation for your dog.
But, American Airlines Online doesn't just deal with airline reservations. Oh, no, buster. They also have vacation packages, rental cars, and even cruises (on the major cruiselines, including Princess and Carnival). You can sign up to become an AAdvantage member, which is American's frequent flyer club. As an AAdvantage member, you can sign up for E-Fares, newsletters which give you all sorts of terrific airfares for last minute travel. My sister actually got a flight to England for $300 from Washington DC because of the E-Fares.
I have always found customer service with American Airlines to be very good. I am amazed at how fast they answer emails sent to the contact address on their website. You can also help yourself a great deal on the website, with options such as online check in and seat selections.
If you're a member of AAdvantage, you can check out your miles statement and participate in other programs. You can also redeem your miles for AA rewards, such as upgrades and tickets. You can also purchase miles, read the AA newsletter, request credit, and much more. It's quite handy, especially for those who travel a lot (like me!).
Want information about your upcoming flight on American Airlines? No problem! American Airlines Online offers to-the-minute flight delays and cancellations, airport information, weather information, flight programs (movies, music, etc.), and anything else you could possibly want to know about your flight-- except maybe the names of your flight attendants!
Overall, American Airlines Online is a terrific site, especially for those travelling on American Airlines.
