I recently ran across another pile of love letters from my late boyfriend Ruben who passed away from liver cancer in 2005.

I thought I had them all in one spot but the other night when I found these extras it was as if my heart was broken up again until a million pieces.

He only had two months to live after he was diagnosed in Oct. 2005 and was only 51 when he died.

I got involved with the American Cancer Society a few months before he was diagnosed and it was only a few months later he was actually given the bad news. Ever since then I make sure that I am involved in the agency's annual Relay for Life in Fort Worth and Benbrook, plus I promote it year-round.

This year's Fort Worth Relay takes place April 15-16 at Fort Worth Cats Stadium/LaGrave Field and as of Feb. 1, 38 teams had been formed. The event begins at 6 a.m. April 15 and is an all-night affair with participants camping out, walking; etc. There is music, entertainment, kids' activities, food, vendors, games, ceremonies, luminaria lighting ceremony at night, dedications, and various other events going on within the event.

Trinity High School had a "Pink Out" and raised $11,259.00.
