American Country Music Award for Entertainer of the Year: Battle Between Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift?
Or Will One of the Guys Win?
Carrie Underwood won the ACM Award for Entertainer of the Year last year at the ACM's, but Taylor Swift pulled off the win for Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Association's award show last fall. Both Carrie and Taylor are nominated for the ACM Entertainer of the Year award along with Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, George Strait, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band.
If Carrie Underwood wins the Entertainer of the Year Award, it will be the first time a female has won the award two years in a row. Underwood is currently on a national tour, which will resume after the ACM's to promote her new CD titled "Play On". She has been making appearances everywhere, touring and also planning a wedding. Underwood is engaged to Canadian hockey player, Mike Fisher. The couple became engaged this past December, but have not announced the actual date of the wedding yet. Fisher plays for the Ottawa Senators.
Taylor Swift is perhaps the hottest name in country music right now. She has been winning multiple awards at each award show she attends and selling out tickets for her concerts. Taylor is also nominated for Female Artist of the Year.
It will be interesting to see if one of these two ladies bring home the Entertainer of the Year Award or if someone else takes the prize this year. All of the nominees are certainly all first class artists deserving of the award. What it will all boil down to is who is the most popular artist that reaped the most votes. This year American Country Music allowed fans to vote online for the Entertainer of the Year and Best New Artist. This leaves the door wide open for anyone to win this award.

Post a CommentI'm hoping Carrie Underwood will win, but my guess is it will probably be Taylor Swift. I like them both though, and I'm just getting ready to sit down and watch the show.

Good info on who should be presented with this award.
A great prelude to what will turn out to be an exciting event. Taylor and Carrie both have loads of talent - so it will be hard to predict the winner. I like Carrie Underwood, but if Taylor wins I will be just as pleased.
