American Idol 2008 Auditions: Will We're Brothers ForeverBe the Next Hit Song?

Patty Oh
American Idol Season 7 has gotten off to a bang. The auditions held in Dallas that recently aired were the highlight of all of the auditions in the shows history. The original song, "We're Brothers Forever" is destined to be the next hit song to come out of the American Idol camps.

The hit of American Idol Season 7 is definitely Renaldo Lapuz, a 44-year-old man from Reno, Nevada. Renaldo came in dressed wacky as can be. Lapuz wore a white hat that looked like it had been made of feathers. Even more odd, it has Simon's name across the front of his hat.

Renaldo was dressed in white, with a silver lame cape that was attached to his shoulders. He was definitely unique and one of a kind.

The American Idol Season 7 audition shows started tame, and saved the best for last. It's been a few years, but we've finally gotten another William Hung, only better. One of the characteristics that made William Hung so endearing was his sincerity and his genuine 'niceness.' He wasn't a jerk, he didn't audition and call the judges names, and he was respectful when he was told that he wasn't going to Hollywood. That also describes Renaldo Lapuz.

Renaldo Lapuz sang his own composition, We're Brothers Forever. A few of his lyrics were a bit difficult to understand, but he's got a catchy tune and cute lyrics. This song has been playing in my head since seeing it on American Idol, and there are many others who've been singing along, too.

His song was so catchy that even Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Ryan Seacrest got in on the action, joining Renaldo on stage. Randy got out behind the judging table and stood with Renaldo, singing with him. Randy was having so much fun that he even got Ryan into the act, telling Seacrest that he had to be a part of this one, while Paula Abdul did a little dance during Renaldo's performance.

Even Simon Cowell couldn't help but smile and chuckle watching everyone else sing and dance with Lapuz. Instead of asking Renaldo to stop singing, Simon chucked and told him to go on when it was time to get to the chorus.

At the end, Simon Cowell said, "I'm going to make a prediction here. I have a horrible feeling that is going to be a hit record." I usually agree with Simon, and I think Simon's right again!

If you missed Renaldo Lapuz's performance, it's definitely worth checking out.

I need to prove there were 20,000 people at the 2008 season 7 auditions because some jerk I work with was calling me a liar and said there was no way they could see 20,000 people from 8am to 12 midnight but they did and I was there with my daughter. Please help.

I haven't watched this year so far. I was so disappointed in many of their choices last year. But I'll probably tune in at some point.

The only time we watch AI is during the audtions, they are just too good to miss. We had to call the kids in the room to watch this guy, he was so funny.

I watch American Idol towards the end of the season when the singers get better.

LOL, I know the song is an "earworm" around our house right now from seeing it on the show so many times.
