American Idol 2010- 17 of Top 24. Mega-Talent Crystal Bowersox, Beautiful-Bottom John Park, Shirtless Casey James, Etc
8. Blonde Janell Wheeler was the first female talent to make it into the Top 24 tonight. She's all right but with all the other talent, she doesn't stand out. She makes a pretty talent package but Shelby Dressel, who lost out last night, would have been the better choice.
9. I love Tyler Grady. He is a 70s-type rocker and is yet current. A tall slim guy with 70s hair, he has a rock-star body. He exudes rock-and-roll and has a terrific voice. A natural-born performer, he will be in the Top Ten.
10. Lacey Brown was beat out by Megan Joy last season. I liked her then and she's even better this year. She looks hip and has great presence. She could make the Top Ten.
11. Ashley Rodriguez is a beauty. She's another one of those complete talent packages that the American Idol judges love. She has a standout smile and talent. You can buy her audition on iTunes.
12. Alex Lambert looks slightly like Adam Lambert before fair-haired Adam dyed his hair black. But unlike exciting Adam, Alex seems bland. He's less memorable than momma's boy Thaddeus Johnson, who lost out.
13. Joe Muñoz is through to the Top 24. We haven't seen much of him so there's nothing much to say- except that we look forward to seeing more of him.
14. Tim Urban is a guy I strongly consider for the Top Ten. He's a good-liking college student with a good voice and plenty of girl-appeal.
15. Singer-musician Crystal Bowersox is my choice to win American Idol 2010. It's not about her pretty face and easy-going personality- or even about her sweet little boy. It's that huge voice she uses so artfully. She has the look of Janis Joplin but she's prettier. Her voice is similar to Janis's but more attractive. Natural-born performer Crystal has her heart and soul in her singing. Just as Janis had. Yet, each singer is one-of-a-kind. As with Adam Lambert, Crystal Bowersox and her talent are too big for American Idol. Buy her 'Piece of My Heart' audition on iTunes here.
16. Katie Stevens is good and she has the determination to make it into the Top Ten. But she's not one of my favorites.
Angela Martin missed American Idol's Top 24 for the third time but I mention her because she's exceptional. What a huge emotional letdown for Angela- her life has been so tough. The first time she tried out, her dad was killed. The second time, after making the Top 50, she had to sit in jail for six days because she couldn't afford to pay her traffic ticket. And no one else could have paid it for her? This third time, Angela missed out because of the other talent. The judges told her she's a great singer. But, they should have put her in the Top 24.
17. Platinum-haired Lilly Scott made it. She's cool, unique, and likeable.
18. Paige Miles is in the Top 24. We have not seen much of her.
19. Siobhan Magnus stands out. She has a great voice. She's very pretty.
20. Beautiful Michelle Delamor is a perfect American Idol talent package.
21. Jermaine Sellers is skilled but is he enjoyable to listen to? Not particularly.
22. John Park is hot in looks and voice. His voice reminds me just slightly of Scott Walker's. You can buy his audition on iTunes. I'm betting on this hunk to not only make the Top Ten but to possibly win American Idol. The girls are gonna love him. Just watch judges Kara DioGuardi and Shania Twain go ga-ga over him during his first audition. Shania told John that he has 'a beautiful bottom-end', 'nice lips', and a good head'- not all said in the same sentence but those phrases were not far apart. John received four 'yeses'. Yes, he's hot. Buy his audition on iTunes.
23. I like Haeley Vaughn but not enough to put her in the Top Ten.
24. Andrew Garcia has a unique sound. His voice transports the soul.
My Top Ten list, so far, includes Crystal Bowser, John Park, Michael Lynche, Casey James, Tyler Grady, and maybe Didi Benami. Do I want my top favorite Mama Sox (as Randy called Crystal) to win? No. Second place would be best. Then rather be sucked up the American Idol faux-star-factory, she will have the creative freedom that American Idol's second-place singer of Season 8, Adam Lambert, has.
