Let's look back for a minute at Crystal's previous performances:

2/23 - Girls Performances; Top 24 - Round I

Crystal performed 'Hand in my Pocket' by Alanis Morissette. For that performance I rated Crystal with a 4, and I felt that she gave a good coffee house performance.

3/3 - Girls Performances; Round II

Crystal performed 'As Long As I Can See the Light' by Credence Clearwater Revival. For this performance I gave Crystal a 3, and I thought she could become a star.

3/10 - Girls Performances; Round III

Crystal performed "Give Me One More Reason" by Tracy Chapman. Crystal rocked the hosue that night and I thought she gave a believeable star performance. I rated her #1.

3/16 - Top 12 Performances - Stones Songs

Crystal sang "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and I thought it was a great song choice but I still wanted her to push it and show us her personality. I rated her a 4, and thought that night she reminded me of Jewel.

3/23 - Top 11 Performances - Top 100 Billboard Hits

Crystal chose to do "Me and Bobby McGee", and she did Janis Joplin justice with her version. It was star powered, and Simon said, "She was on par with Pink". I gave her a 2.

3/30 - Top 10 Performances - Soul and R&B

Crystal sang, "Midnight Train to Georgia", and she started on the piano instead of her guitar. I saw a very capable and versatile musician, and I voted her #2.

4/6 - Top 9 Performances- Beatles Songs,

Crystal chose "Come Together" and again, I thought she did good with her song choice and began to believe she is a natural artist. I voted her #2

4/13 - Top 8 Performances - Elvis songs, with Adam Lambert

Last week Crystal sang, "Saved" and I voted her #1. She brought a lot of energy to the performance, and we are starting to see her personality shine. I think she is starting to believe she just might be the next American Idol.

4/20/2010 - A star was born tonight. Crystal had the Moment of the season tonight as she sang "People Get Ready" by Curtis Mayfield. She had no instrument, and she began the song a capella. Her sultry voice was sweet, and she captured the audience and took them on a journey. At the end, Crystal broke down in tears, and it was perhaps as if she had an out of body experience. She gave and she received as the audience gave her a standing ovation. She was spectacular and a star! I was bawling my eyes out, and remembered previous moments on other seasons.

The judges all loved this performance and Simon said she was in a league of her own. You will want to download this on I-Tunes. It was a Susan Boyle moment.
