American Idol 2010 Elimination Results May 5: Aaron Kelly Voted Off; Bottom 2: Michael & Aaron; SAFE Lee, Crystal, Casey, Michael

American Idol 2010 Season 9. Wednesday, May 5, 2010. The judges are Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi, and Simon Cowell. The host is Ryan Seacrest. This week's mentor was Harry Connick, Jr. The songs sung last night were the songs of Frank Sinatra. Tonight's guest is Lady Gaga.

Dressed in black suits with white shirts, the Top 5 kicked off the show with a medley of Frank Sinatra songs. Michael Lynche and Crystal Bowersox wore hats à la Frank. Then, there was the world premiere of the Ford music video. The Top 5 sounded like a mix of The Cowsills or Simon & Garfunkel singing the Ford jingle. My guess is that Casey James will be going home tonight.

American Idol Elimination Results Time: With the Top 5 seated on the safety couch (right stage, audience left), Ryan said, "Dim the lights." He then asked Lee DeWyze to stand up and take center stage. After the usual chitchat, he pronounced Lee as safe!

Pushing the pop-culture envelope as Ryan said, Lady Gaga performed 'Alejandro'. Surrounded by half-naked male dancers and herself clad in a skimpy black bikini and head-to-toe attractive black netting, Lady Gaga sang, played the piano, and danced. A blonde wig completed her sexy ensemble. The performance was hot.

After an ad, Harry Connick, Jr. sang The Beatles' 'And I Love Her' from his latest album, Your Songs. Then, the Top 5 contestant singers sang a medley of Harry Connick, Jr. songs. Harry played the piano. Then, he told a Sinatra story and talked about his tour.

American Idol Elimination Results Time: Ryan said, "Bring down the lights." He asked Crystal Bowersox to stand up and then take far stage. Then, he asked Michael Lynche to stand up and start a group on the near side of the stage. Aaron Kelly stood up and joined Big Mike. Casey James stood up and was told to stand next to Crystal. The safe group is the one with Crystal and Casey. So, Michael and Aaron are the bottom two!

After the votes, Aaron Kelly is voted off and going home. For his swan song, he reprised 'Fly Me to the Moon'. Season 9 is now left with its four finalists of three guys and one girl- Casey James, Lee DeWyze, Michael Lynche, and Crystal Bowersox. Here they are- the Top 4 singers- listed with their ages, hometowns, and the Frank Sinatra songs that put them in the finals:
