American Idol 2010 Elimination Results May 12: Michael Lynche Voted Off; Top 3- Casey James, Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox
Season 9: May 12, Jamie Foxx Mentored; Top 3 Finalists; Michael Lynche Disqualified
Soul singer Fantasia started the show by singing 'Bittersweet', from her new album. As Randy might say, "I don't know, Dog. It was sleepy for me." He didn't say that, of course. But it was a flat beginning to the show.
With the Top 4 seated on stools center stage, host Ryan announced that the Top 3 singers after tonight would return to their hometowns to receive a hero's welcome. Clips were shown of past American Idol Top 3 contestants experiencing that. Each of the current Top 4 talked about what a hero's welcome would mean to him. Their friends and family sat on left stage (audience right).
American Idol Elimination Results Time: Ryan said, "Dim the lights." He asked all four singers to stand- Michael Lynche; Casey James; Lee DeWyze; Crystal Bowersox. After the usual chitchat, Ryan pronounced Casey James as safe and in the Top 3!
Chris Daughtry sang 'September'. No wonder American Idol is losing viewers left and right. The Top 4 were overall disappointing last night. And then there's a performance like Chris's- whiny and boring.
Some people opine that Paula Abdul would raise the ratings again. Some people say Ellen should go. But Ellen is far more interesting than the boring and repetitive Kara, who does however make some constructive criticisms. Randy is ever predictable. Simon at least can repeat himself but still be interesting. Yet, the bottom line is this- American Idol needs more singers like glam man Adam Lambert.
Bon Jovi performed "Superman Tonight'. The crowd was excited. Yet, the climax will be when we learn who the third songster is to enter the Top 3.
American Idol Elimination Results Time: Ryan and the three singers talked about the songs they had sung. After the nationwide vote, Lee DeWyze is heading back to Chicago, for a hero's welcome. He is safe! At this point, we can imagine that Michael will be the one to leave the show and Crystal will be pronounced safe.
American Idol Elimination Results Time: After the votes, Crystal Bowersox will go home for a hero's welcome and Michael Lynche, who was voted off, is just going home. For his swan song, he reprised Michael Jackson's 'Will You Be There', from the film Free Willy.
Season 9 is now left with two guys and a girl- Casey James, Lee DeWyze, and Crystal Bowersox. Here are the Top 3 singers listed with their ages, hometowns, and the songs from movies that put kept them in the competition:
Safe: Casey James, 27, Fort Worth, Texas. - 'Mrs. Robinson' from The Graduate -
Safe: Crystal Bowersox, 24, Elliston, Ohio. - Kenny Loggins' 'I'm Alright' from Caddyshack -
Safe: Lee DeWyze, 23, Chicago, Ill. - Seal's 'Kiss From a Rose', from Batman Forever -
Crystal Bowersox could win the whole shebang-she's been a frontrunner since her first audition. Yet, there could be an upset à la Adam Lambert.

Post a Commentnot really a watcher, but well deserved PL your way!
I was so sad to see michael go- he was so incredible.
I'm happy with the Top 3, all things considered. :)
Go, Crystal!
yes I agree with no hesitation between Crystal and Mike that Crystal is the winner, as for Siobhan she is a singer and I which her the best, I hope to hear some of her albums
At the beginning of the competition, I had actually thought that the showdown would be between Crystal and Mike with Crystal winning. I know many people like Lee but I was really hoping Siobhan would be in the finals. I think Casey's earlier performances were better than his later ones.
I do agree with ras, it was awesome on 05/12/10 awesome night and it going to be even better next wk with 3 good artist singers also the judges are great
Always a spirited competition. Nicely written.
fantasia was awesome last night
The negative British fellow needs to be knocked off, just due to the remarks of the other judges being more positive and the Brit. overwhelmingly is negative or obstainate.... by by brit. and you'll see the show improve in popularity 100%. Nothing personal dude either " get up on stage and do a song yourself and see how absolutely hard it really is and get some of the critism you have been putting out. Then sit back down and be a lot less negative....You are too predictable in your judgments and demeanor which pulls the show down. I hope and pray the JESUS doesn't judge you as harsh...Think about it..... Yes I am a musician myself and realy what do you know about it? give it up for the people that actually try!
