Ever since Victoria Beckham and Kara DioGuardi told Casey James to remove his shirt on his first audition, Casey has become synonymous with eye candy. And, as Kara said after tonight's performance-which all agreed was his best thus far-Casey is 'ear candy'. Casey James was the eleventh performer so look out for more delicious commentary about him on the next page.
1. Poised Todrick Hall came out flashing his good looks and performance style with 'Since You've Been Gone'. His vocals were good but three of the four judges lashed out. Simon called Todrick's performance pointless. Kara and Randy agreed. Ellen thought Todrick sounded great and said, "I like you a lot." So do I.
2. Aaron Kelly changed my biased opinion against him. He was very good with Rascal Flatts' 'Here Comes Goodbye'. Kara said Aaron has raw natural talent and is soulful. Randy told him he has a huge voice. Ellen told the fresh-faced sixteen-year-old that he'll be here for a long time. Yes, it's not goodbye for Aaron.
3. Jermaine Sellers leaves me thinking my usual about him. He is skilled but not enjoyable to the ear. He spoiled the beautiful 'Get Here (If You Can)'.
4. Tim Urban changed my positive opinion about him. Although he has chick-appeal and, as Ellen says, he's adorable, Tim's mediocre voice and performance on 'Apologize' may have blown his American Idol dream.
5. Joe Muñoz was smooth singing 'You and I Both' but as Simon said, it was 'forgettable'.
6. 70-styles rocker Tyler Grady disappointed with 'American Woman'. He lacked sincerity and his own brand. I had thought he was a natural-born performer and would be in the Top 10-until tonight.
7. Lee Dewyze was very comfortable performing 'Chasing Cars' The judges like his raspy voice. Simon thought Lee's performance was the best so far. But Lee disappointed me.
8. Hunk John Park with the deep voice sang 'God Bless the Child'. Three judges cursed him-unjustly, I say. And I'm in good company. Ellen told John he 'sounded great'; she 'liked the performance'. She wants people to vote for him-she likes him a lot. Shania Twain also liked John on his first audition and not just for his voice.
9. Michael Lynche, also known as Big Mike, has impressed me with every performance until tonight's 'This Love'. In fact, I had tagged Big Mike as the American Idol winner, until Casey James' 'Heaven' performance.
10. Alex Lambert has a big unique voice. The judges compared him to James Morrison. Alex's raspy 'Wonderful World' should keep him on American Idol.
11. Casey James mesmerized the judges, studio audience, and, I imagine, TV viewers, as he sang 'Heaven' and played guitar-he drew avid applause. Casey himself is a piece of heaven in every way. I'm ready to call him the American Idol winner. He has not faltered with one performance. And this latest was sublime. Not to mention it made Kara all hot and bothered.
Simon called Kara a cougar. Ellen told Casey that she could 'feel Kara undressing you with her eyes'. She said he'll 'get votes like crazy'. Randy liked his swagger and told him he had made a great song choice. This is when Kara told Casey that he was not only 'eye candy' but also 'ear candy'. All the judges joked about his model looks and singing talent. Even Simon joked with Casey that they shared the problem of not only having good looks but also of having to somehow manage talent, too.
12. The last to perform, Andrew Garcia has a unique sound that I really like. I find it transporting. Yet, tonight Andrew disappointed with 'Sugar, We're Goin' Down'. But I expect him to stick around.
My top three in contention for the Top 10 list so far are new number-1 favorite Casey James, along with Michael Lynche and Alex Lambert. My bottom three are Tim Urban, Jermaine Sellers, and Jose Muñoz. To learn about how the girls did last night, click here.

Super recap and awesome title!
Nice :)
I'm looking forward for Andrew Garcia, but sadly, very very very disappointing.. That's just a normal performance, Straight Up far better. Still, i'm lookin forward for next week. For this round, it goes to Casey.
Fun recap! I think I like Andrew, Lee and Todrick best at this point. :)
Great summary!
