American Idol 2010- Top 24 so Far Includes Michael Lynche, Casey James, & More

American Idol 2010 promises better talent than all the previous seasons, with the exceptions of Kelly Clarkson, Melinda Dolittle, and the incomparable creative genius Adam Lambert. The competition is fierce. But of the seven singers who placed in the Top 24 on Tuesday night February 16- leaving us with seventeen more to be admitted into the sacred singing circle tonight,- a few are natural-born performers.

1. Michael Lynche, also known as Big Mike, is one of those natural-born performers. When he sings, we listen with hopeless attention. He commands the stage and his own performance. His life has altered in two ways. His wife gave birth to their first child last week, a daughter. And I believe he will make the Top Ten.

2. Didi Benami was unanimously admitted into the Top 24. Her tragedy behind her tears and smiles is the loss of her best friend. Didi sings from her heart. When she sang a Kara DioGuardi song, even naughty Simon Cowell said she made it sound good. And she did. She done Kara proud.

3. Katelyn Epperly's sad story is that her father left her mother and the alienated pair is getting divorced. Katelyn is the complete American Idol package in looks and talent. But her talent isn't mega-talent.

Shelby Dressel did not make it but I mention her because I believe that with her rich golden voice and beauty, she should have made it. As she left the stage after hearing her rejection, Simon said, "That was a mistake." And he is so right.

4. Pony-tailed blond Casey James who wowed the girl judges with his sexy body- Kara made him take off his shirt- during his audition, will continue to wow Kara and other females. He is another natural-born performer. He, like Big Mike, will go far. As Casey walked onto the stage to hear his fate, Ellen DeGeneres whispered to Kara- 'he wore his hair down for you'. When Casey heard his 'yes' from the judges, he gave Kara a hug. As he hugged her, she bent one leg up in a sexy fashion- just like in the romance comics and movies. As Casey left the stage, Ryan Seacrest muttered that it was a good thing Casey was staying so 'Kara can have her way with him'.

5. Aaron Kelly got the nod. The sixteen-year-old is good but he won't get far.

6. Lee Dewyze convinced the judges in the last few minutes before hearing his fate that he was confident in himself and about his talent. Like Aaron, he's good, but he won't make the Top Ten.

7. Todrick Hall has Harry-Belafonte-type good looks and he's very talented. He'll do well.

Jessica Furney didn't make it but she did such a good begging job that she deserves to be mentioned. The judges told her to not look at this rejection for the show as an end to her career. They encouraged her to continue. If there had been lesser rather than fiercer talent this year, Jessica probably would have made it into the Top 24.

My favorite to win American Idol 2010 will be shown making the Top 24 tonight. There's no way that she won't make it. She is the extraordinary talent Crystal Bowersox.
