American Idol 2011 '" Naima Adedapo, Thia Megia and Paul McDonald
Naima Adedapo, Thia Megia and Paul McDonald Bottom 3
Naima Adedapo's Performance
This week, Naima Adedapo performed, "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John. Naima added her spice of reggae to the song. Jennifer Lopez said she didn't think this song was suited for that. I completely agree with Jennifer. This reggae twist to the song was, in my opinion, a complete disaster. Randy Jackson said, "...it kind of came out kind of corny and you're not corny...." I really like Naima Adedapo, but she disappointed me big time on this one.
Naima you did so well on American Idol last week. Why did you have to ruin it? Anyway, she's gone now and I wish her the best. I hope Naima makes better choices in the future. Some things are better left untouched.
Thia Megia's Performance
This week on American Idol, Thia Megia performed, "Daniel." Randy Jackson said, "There were a couple of pitch issues here and there...it was still once again very safe." Jennifer Lopez said, "That was really beautiful." I was hoping to see Thia bring some other moves to the stage as the prior week. But I guess not. Let's be honest, Thia compared to the other contestants, should've been sent home a long time ago. Thia Megia's been lucky that she made it this far. Goodbye Thia!
Paul McDonald's Performance
Paul McDonald bottom 3? I didn't predict this one, which I'm sure America didn't either. We all probably thought Stefano Langone was going to be in the bottom 3. But somehow, Paul ended up there instead. What's wrong with you America? Maybe it had to do with Stefano's connection with the audience on American Idol this week. Who knows?
Paul McDonald's performance last week on American Idol was good overall. Paul sang, "Rocket Man" by Elton John. Randy Jackson said, "There were a couple of things that were a little pitchy here and there, but when you get into that tender zone, that quiet, that soft voice is very infectious." True.
And Jennifer Lopez said, "We encourage you to push...especially in those upper registers." Steven Tyler said he likes the character where sometimes Paul hits a note, and sometimes he doesn't. I think Paul McDonald has such a unique voice and personality. He shouldn't be in the bottom 3. That's just crazy wrong.
