'American Idol' 2011 Season 10- Hollywood Week Round 3: Solo Day Paves the Way for Top 24

Who Makes the Top 24 on American Idol?

Thursday night on "American Idol," the Hollywood Week competition continued, with 100 finalists competing solo for a spot in the final 60. And after Wednesday night's sometimes-disastrous Group Night, the solo performances were a welcome change. So who moved on to the next round on "American Idol" Season 10?

The contestants pulled out all the stops this week, with Casey Abrams rolling out a ginormous stand-up bass to accompany his song (smart move).

And Lauren Alaina charmed judge Steven Tyler again with her version of his Aerosmith classic, 'I Don't Want to Miss a thing."

Haley Reinhart, Thia Megia, STefano Langone, Jovany Barreto, Jacee Badeaux and Ashthon Jones all pulled off great performances.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Dunford fell ill and quit the competition before heading off to the hospital.

Jacob Lusk had a great audition- which garnered him a standing ovation from all of his peers- and there was some major sobbing going on after he completed it.

John Wayne Schulz was brilliant: He sang Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" in a way that would make Stevie Nicks proud.

And Ashley Sullivan continued on her emotional rollercoaster, breaking down and stammering once again during her rendition of Michael Buble's 'Everything." It was time for more apologies.

The talented Scotty McCreery had a memory blip and made up words to his song. He later admitted that he deserved to be cut.

In the end, the contestants were nearly halved. Jacee Badeaux, Robbie Rosen, Lauren Alaina, Casey Abrams and James Durbin were just a few people that made it through to the next round. Chelsee Oaks- the only remaining member of the two "couples" featured this season- was sent home.

Next week: On a season where I thought they were banning themes, next week it's Beatles Week. Whaaaat? During auditions? That ought to be interesting for a country boy like McCreery.

Also next week: Your Top 24 will be revealed. Who will make the cut?

You can catch the next episode of "American Idol" on Wednesday, February 23 at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
