'American Idol' 2011 Season 10 Spoilers: Who Are the Top 40 Contestants?

'American Idol' Top 40 Contestants List- Minus 2

Victoria Leigh Miller
With season 10 of "American Idol" set to premiere on FOX Wednesday night, it will be all about the new judging panel- and oh, yeah, the hundreds of contestants who actually made it through the audition process.

But while thousands and thousands of wannabes showed up at audition sites in cities like New Orleans and Milwaukee, only a select few received a golden ticket to California to sing in front of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler for an encore during the Hollywood round.

And now, before any of that even airs, the website Vote For the Worst may have already leaked the highly guarded top 40 contestants' list. You gotta love VFTW. These guys are the reason behind Sanjaya Malakar and Tim Urban's longevity on the show in previous seasons.

Several of these contestants have already been singled out by TMZ , along with videos of them performing.

And it happens every season. Two possible Top 40 contestants- Joey Dwyer-Mount and Rachel Zevita- may have already been disqualified. Does that mean a call back wild card spot will open?

Only time will tell if this Top 40 list is on the money (um, it usually is), but just in case: Remember these names because one of these peeps just may be your American Idol.

Travis Orlando...No Top 40? You're kiddin' me, right? Young, extremely marketable, passionate, full of desire. Most importantly, the kid's got raw-natural talent. He's equipped with a remarkable voice that has volume and range. Note to Travis: If AI failed to advance you, consider it good news. Case in point: Considering the Simon Fuller marketing juggernaut, very few (recent) AI winners track the Top 10, 20 or 50 charts. Billboard exposure is brief and AI artists seem to anchor the bottom 50. AI's successful viewership ratings don't translate into (sustainable) artist's commercial success. Yes, a few have scored big (even with the 40-50% agent/blood fee to Fuller's record company), but the last few years have been ghost in the chart machine. AI artists seem to have a knack for dissipating into the wind; only to be heard from at the local county fair. Hopefully, the presence/input of music mogul Jimmy Lovine (interscope/geffen/a&m) will change this
