'American Idol' 2011 Season 10- Top 9 Results Shocker: A Songbird is Sent Home
Who was Sent Home on 'American Idol' This Week? Probably Not Who You Think
Unfortunately, one of the girls was sent home this week. Sandwiched between Stefano Langone and Jacob Lusk in the bottom three, the talented Pia Toscano was surprisingly eliminated from the competition on Thursday night.
Judges Jennifer Lopez , Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson could barely contain their shock-or their anger. You could see the wheels turning and how much they wished they hadn't prematurely cashed in their "save" a few weeks ago to keep Casey Abrams. Randy was downright angry and J-Lo was on the verge of tears. Steven Tyler chastised the viewing audience, saying, " Lack of passion is unforgiveable."
Toscano took the judges' advice this week and broke out of her ballad mold, but that's probably not what hurt her. Her fans just didn't vote this week, likely assuming she'd be safe after her knockout performance of Tina Turner's "River Deep Mountain High."
Host Ryan Seacrest used this as a reminder once again to appeal to viewers that they have to vote for their favorites.
When it came time to say her goodbyes Thursday night, a tearful Toscano went back into ballad mode, singing the Pretenders classic, "I'll Stand By You."
Now, it's down to two girls and six guys on "Idol" Season 10. Do the girls stand a chance this season?

Post a CommentYou know, when a songbird sings the same one note constantly, it can be pretty boring.
I haven't been watching the show since some of the earlier episodes. Good recap!
I hope the rumor is true and Todd Rundgren is going to lend his talents to the hopefuls. His production capabilities will make for a way cool show.
talk about a stunner! welcome back, my friend (((HUGS)))
America got it soooo wrong!
Wow, what a mess. Her performance of "River Deep, Mountain High" was really the best of the previous night. She wasn't one of my favs, but her talent was undeniable and I do love that song!
